Are you trying to set up the router. You can do it manually without the CD. Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem. If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first. If your computer is able to go online through the modem then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP. If you've tried reseting it, then the IP address is probably one of the following:
192.168.1.1
192.168.0.1
If you know how, try to ping the router via command prompt. You can do this by going to:
Start Menu>Run
then type
cmd
A black window will appear, try typing:
ping [one of the IP addresses above]
if nothing "replies" then you have a bad connection. If one of them does reply.
Try typing that IP address into the browser address bar to bring up the routers web interface.
If it's a linksys, try this for the username and password
Username: admin
Password: admin
for Netgear:
Username: admin
Password: password
