Turn the power off and let it sit for a few minutes. While it is off, open all the paper path access areas and check for any pieces of paper or buildups which may affect a sensor.
Close it back up and turn it on.
Here is a link to the manual, which has two good areas covering paper jam troubleshooting and resolution (around pg 300). http://www.manualslib.com/download/577729/Dell-C2660dn.html
Dear
I am a bit of confused about paper jam but you are able to print but facing difficulties in scanning. I think the document jam is there. Pl. check the ADF (automatic document feeder) a small piece of paper or any foreign mater may obstruct or jammed at the sensor. clearing this may help you.
To clear the error message Paper Jam after you removed the jammed paper, open and close the scanner cover.
If you still receive the error message, a small piece of paper may be stuck inside your Brother machine.
Refer the below link for the steps to remove any ripped paper remaining inside your Brother machine:
This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.
1) Make sure the tank holding all the ink cartriges is properly aligned
and can move side-to-side.
2) If it is crooked or can't move, check below it for a paper jam --
when the jam is that bad, the C000 appears to override the normal Paper
Jam warning.
3) Make sure none of the ink cartridges has run completely out -- I
tend to use them until they're bone dry, and got the C000
error....inserting a new cartridge cleared it right up.

Most of the time overriding the error message solve the problem
check all areas for any paper jam, also check the feed roller in the paper trays if the roller are slick with paper dust, clean them and then reinstall the paper. Sounds like a paper sensor is not been cleared. then the error message, should go away on reboot.
