Fault in CD refuses to play cds but if you load & unload the disc numerous times & as the disc is loading hit the track button it sometimes loads & will play the full CD perfectly Then its back to the LoadUnload till it goes again, Sometimes it even reads the No of tracks & displays the correct number on the display, the Play indicator comes on but ZERO SOUND

Thanks for that Graeme, Sorry but already tried the draw load theory but No Go it is loading! The Disc is spinning at all times it will even sometimes read the track times EG total disc time, go from Pause to play, but no sound then next time maybe 1 in 20 it will decide to play a whole 1 hr long CD ,But dont distub it or your back to sqaure 1 again. THANKS FOR TRYING to help Graeme If it wasnt for the sentimental value of the unit I would use it as a WHEEL CHOCK!!

    WITH THANKS ROSS

Hi jenoss

Sounds like the unit has either a failing load belt to the cd drawer mechanism, not allowing the transport to fully load the cd. Give the unit a gentle tap just after the drawer closes and see if it resolves the problem.

OR a faulty spindle motor, you will have to take the lid off and after pressing play, give the disc a gentle "kickstart". If it then begins to run, then the motor is the problem.

If you find it is neither of these, get back to me here and I we shall go further

regards
Graeme

I had more.... give the laser lens a clean with a cotton wool bud moistened with Windex, then polish it with a dry one to be sure no smear is left. It may also be failing spindlemotor bearings that are causing a mistrack whilst the laser is reading the TOC. This happens because it has to spin fastest at the beginning of the disc. Many CD misread and no TOC problems are caused by lazy spindle motors. Anyhows, you have thanked me for trying, although I have repaired more than 1000 kenwood cds over the years. Cheers for that. I still got more but have lost interest now. No gains for me here

I have a 1987 model kenwood home stereo system ihave a graphic equalizer ge 76 control amplifier kc206 synthesizer tuner kt76 power amp km206 how does the RCA connections hook up which ones go to...

First connect all sources like tuner, cassette player, Cd player into the proper RCA inputs of the control amp, then connect the output of the control amp into the input of the equalizer. Then connect the output of the equalizer into the input of the amplifier. This is how to get the best performance and proper outputs to all the right equipment. The speaker outputs of the amplifier would then go to the speakers.

I have a Kenwood KR-V6080 amp and I have tried playing a Sony MP3 player through the phono and cd sockets on the amp but the sound is not good. I have also tried to change the settings on the MP3 player...

"Not good". What does that mean?

It SHOULD work. Look at the MP3 player's volume controls.

Any audio device that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except "PHONO"). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono".

I have a kenwood MIDI M-45 /MIDI M-757 audio system. The CD player won't play. The disc loads but error comes up NO DISC, can you help????

The cd unit is not reading the disc, the laser pickup may be dirty, or the pladder motor that cd sits on may be defective. If you can get at the laser pickup lens, clean it with rubbing alcohol with a Q-Tip very carefully in circular motion and allow several minutes to dry.

I have a kenwood stereo integrated amplifier KA 791 and the dual cassete KXw892, niether will come on. when plugged in the standby light only comes on. the reciever and cd player components come on fine?...

That system came with the kt591 tunner in a bundle which consisted of what you call the Kenwood Spectrum 700 rack system, you had to plug the tuner into the wall and then plug the amp into the tunner if you didnt , when you turn the amp on you just get a relay clicking noise and nothing turned on.

Kenwood DP-MH5 CD Player won't open or play CDs and display reads err 08. Think a disc may have been loaded incorrectly. How can i fix it?

CDs can be removed but you must use great caution not to break or bend mechanism components. Its better to have unit serviced by pro/tech
