Magic Sing EG-18000 Microphone Delay

By lovemykids on Mar 16, 2008

" "
I just bought the Magic Sing EG-18000 and there is a sever delay on the microphone.  When you sing into the mic, it takes 2 seconds for it to come out of the TV speakers.  I am using the yellow, white and red wires into a Video out port on my TV.  Any ideas, please?

i specifically have a SHARP AQUOS 32" HDTV that i've recently purchased. on the back of it are several connection ports, marked Input 1, Input 2 and so on. each Input has a set of video/audio ports and i basically connect my magic mic in those ports, just as i did with my old tube tv. i also have external speakers connected to the audio port. i've tried moving the magic mic connection to the different Input ports but still no luck.

-   I have the same problem... Severe delay when connecting to my Samsung LCD. I later bought a Samsung surround system, and connected the audio directly to that. Same problems.....-   Guest

-   I can't even get it to work on my plasma TV- can someone help? I've pluged in the av inputs and nothing. Do I have to put the tv on a specific channel? Or adjust the TV settings somehow?

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

-   I have a new 9000 with an extra microphone and I have the same issue. The audio out of the tv is delayed from the singers voice enough to throw off the timing of the singer. I have an older model Magic Sing that hooks up identically to the 9000 and it works perfect. Is the 9000 just a cheap version?-   zp18

Your problem is your connection to the TV and maybe your Magic Sing configuration.

Can u specifically describe how you have it connected?

I fixed mine the same way. I do not know why there should be a delay going through the RCA inputs on the plasma TV, but running the audio through a separate amplifier with only the video going into the RCA inputs works with mine.

I have an ED8000 which worked fine until we got a plasma tv and a HDD/DVD recorder. Each adds a delay to the audio which creates and overall echo and long delay which is unacceptable. I fixed it by running the video direct to the TV and the audio direct to the amplifier. All echoes and delays now history. You might need an extra extension audio/video cable but it worth the effort for ~ $3.

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.
