Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I purchased a 4-port hub model PA055U on 1-8-08 and worked fine until yesterday when the Upstream USB cable went default and the hub stopped working. I borrowed a cable from my son's camera bag and the hub works fine for now. Would you send me a replacement usb cable? Send to : David J. O'Brien, 2004 Island Rd. Harvard, IL 60033-9635 I will send back to you the faulty cable if you like. Thank You very much, David J. O'Brien

I have 4 usb ports 1.0 I am not able to download

The port in the PC needs to be USB 2.0 standard.

A quick analogy. Think of a tap with 1/2" outlet, and you connect an adapter and a 1" hose to it. It will work, but you will not get more water just because you attached a thicker hose; the original outlet has to have higher diameter to give you more water.

If all your USB ports are 1.0 version, the only option is to purchase an USB 2.0 PCI card mounted inside the computer - this will give you 2 or 4 (depending on card model) USB 2.0 outlets.

Please come back with a rating/testimonial if helped.

Return the Hub. Internet Service Providers like Comcast charge $5 per computer connected to a HUB. There is NO charge for computers connected to a ROUTER. Make sure you purchase a ROUTER (get one on Ebay cheapest.)

Why don't the usb ports work on the side of monitor

is there an extra cable, aside from the Power Cord, and the VGA Cable? if not, look on the back of the monitor, there should be a similar plug in like a USB printer would have, its kinda square. If there is, you just need a USB printer cable to make it work.

Keyboard and mouse not working

what sort of keyboard and mouse is that.. if its a serial or ps/2 then get the ps/2 to usb cable and try it using your usb port. if its usb mouse and keyboard then the better way is to get 4 usb hub and use it with hub.

New keyboard and mouse set only works plugged into usb ports

You could purchase a 4 port usb hub for less than $30. Leave the keyboard & mouse where they are & use the hub for your other devices. This is probably the easiest option. Hope this helps.

Power surge on hub port

Try this to find out which one of your components has an issue. Turn off your machine then unplug all of your USB cables. Turn your machine back on and plug in one of your USB cables. Verify the component you just plugged in works correctly and if it does plug in another cable and verify that component is working. Continue these steps until you have the one component that displays the error you have seen. That component is most likely the cause of your issue and should be replaced.

Good luck, Greased.

The problem is that some usb hub devices are not powered enough to recognise peripherals, i always recommend buying a mains powered usb hub as the pc's supply can find it difficult to power the usb ports enough as well as powering other components in your pc.
