Question about Hitachi 42EDT41 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
The other day i moved my plasma from one room to another, and everything seemed fine, the following morning i turned it on and everything was ok until the screen went blank. I could still hear sound so i turned it off and it never turned back on. now all it does when i try and turn it on is the power light just blinks a couple times then goes off. I can hear a relay clicking but nothing happens. Im assuming a cap. went bad, but after pulling the back panel off the tv to check the fuses on the power supply board all the cap's seem ok. None are bulged and all the fuses are in order, is there anything else i should look into before i smash this thing with disgust and buy a new one. thanks for any help you can offer.
I have a 42 inch plasma and I was watching tv last night on it and suddenly it turned off on it's own. I tried turning it off and on and nothing happened. Then I tried to unplug it and replug it and nothing. My remote does not work either. Anyone know what exactly happened? Did my screen blow or what? I hardly ever use the tv and I only had it on from 8:30 p.m. - 10:20 p.m. and it turned off. All the other tv's in my house worked fine - I checked them. Also, my dvd player and cable box is on the same power cord and both of them work. Any solutions or help would be most appreciated!!! Does it just need to cool down or did I burn something out? Help!!!

PDP4294LV1 Esa had made changes inside and used various differant parts. The silver colored units manufactured after Nov 2004 are worse than the oldes.I bought two defective units and both have diff guts inside. My advice--stay away from ESA,Vizio,Samsung. My unit started having V lines and sound.Like a dumbie kept turning off and on,now the set only--red off then green light on and blank screen. Best the units used as boar anchors. Stay away from any Plasma units--all junk and if you haveone still working--they produce high heat--notice that good ones have to internal fans--want to save yours--remove the back cover and hang as/is :^(

You have a bad power supply, is shorted so you need to replace it , do not turn it on or you will burn some other items and then the cost to fix it will increase drastically.

Ok im adding more info about this problem that i found out tonight, the question above is concerning my tv.i have the back off my tv and all i did was plugged the power cord back in to see if i could hear anything. as soon as i plugged it in the relay kicked on like it was trying to turn itself on, but i never hit the power button. then i noticed a heat sync on the power board was getting really hot even though the tv wasnt working, hope that info helps pinpoint the problem.
