Question about Bionaire BDQ24 Quietech Dehumidifier

Unit wont poker on.

I bought a used bionaire BDQ24 . When i received this item it worked when plugged in but only removed about a cup or two of water before it broke. I dont know what happened it just wont turn on at all. Is there any parts i can replace to make it work?

There are probably parts you could replace but without any service manual data or replacement parts data it really is difficult for us to help you.

Your unit has
1. a Humidistat
2. a Fan
3. a Compressor and all of its' start run components consisting of a start relay thermal overload and a run capacitor.
Obviously there is a problem with one of those components. It will be a matter of isolating which one and then going to your local appliance parts center (WITH defective part in hand) to purchase the parts. (IF they have them...)

Running, but not taking water from air


Hi,
There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier

Water is leaking out from under the water reservoir; the water reservoir is not full. The float mechanism is positioned properly. Also, coils seem to be frozen and I cannot remove the filter tray from...


The water leaking out from under the unit, indicates that the drain line to the water reservoir is clogged. Turn the unit OFF and unplug is from the outlet. Allow the unit to completely thaw, before attempting to service it. Once unplugged, you may want to put some towels under it, to absorb the water dripping,

Once the unit is completely thawed, remove the water bucket and empty it, if necessary. Look for a tube or hole near the top of the cavity, that the bucket sits in. Using an 18" to 20" long plastic Zip Tie (or something similar. NO wire cost hangers, though) that will fit into the tube or hole, carefully insert it and continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tuber. This is the tricky part, as you need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend. Once you do, continue to insert the Zip Tie, until it bottoms out or you have reached it's maximum length. Slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating it. This will dislodge any clogs. Once you have almost removed the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

Clean the filter and wipe down the entire unit. Plug it back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set your controls as you normally do.

Unit has ceased to extract water runs -sounds the same /no water


feel the coil in back ias it cold if not you don't have coolant repair people can resoder

Dehumidifier running but no pulling any water from the room


Check float switch some of the unit have afloat switch hooked to the unit. Next check the condenser coilsThey do get stopped up cat,dog hair and just plain get dirty vaccuum them out and try unit. Rusty
