Video Camera Malfunction

My JVC Compact VHS video Camera is no longer getting a clear picture when I try to record images. I get a fuzzy grey/white screen with no picture. I works fine in playback mode.

This is a link that has camera reviews on it.
Apparently the camera that someone reviewed there goes fuzzy.

Got a problem with Nikon coolpix s255 works fine on video but every picture has white lines as soon as taken or on viewing image . Looks like picture is behind a white Venetian blind

Those white lines should not be there and it indicates that something is wrong with the electronics of the camera when shooting video.

Take out the memory chip and play it back video on a computer. If it plays back fine on computer then the playback camera circuits are fubar. If also bad on computer then the anomaly is in the record section of camera.

Repairing those cameras since they are small and the parts are proprietary is an expensive proposition that you would only entertain if the camera was initially a very expensive one. Repairs on less expensive units are simply not cost effective.

I have a JVC Compact VHS video camera, model GR-AX800 and it's beginning to eat my tapes. There's an error code, "E08" appearring in the viewfinder. Can you tell me what that means? ...

Either a belt has broken internally o is sliping enough to prevent the takeup reel from turning. This unit needs service. This is not a repair I would suggest you attempt unless you have worked on cameras before. The parts cost for this repair should not be more than $10. Check around for a service center that will work on JVC camcorders.

Sony dsc f717

Did you download the image to your computer? Was the image shown on the computer white also? If so, it is CCD sensor degradation. It will just get worse with time. Eventually the movie will mode will also show the degradation. Here's a site that outlines people's experience in getting this fixed:
