Problem with sound

This TV is not designed to plug speakers into it. You must hook to an amplifier( home theater system/ stereo) with digital optical connection.

When i connect my laptop to my lg tv there is a loud huming sound through the tv speakers

The problem is because of the connecting wire that you've used. Change that, if it still persists, you can try to disable the sound from the laptop.

Does this thing even have speakers..cant get any sound

It definitely has built in speakers:

Built in Speakers 2 x 3W speakers

It also has a headphone out jack. If you can't get sound, check and see if the headphone jack works. Does the volume control work? If they do your problem is with the speakers. They may be blown or just disconnected.

If you can't get sound through the headphone jack and you do have volume control but no sound, it probably a problem with the mainboard. It may need to be replaced.

Not really worth fixing in my opinion. I'd Just get some external speakers and connect them that way. Of course, if you are relying on a cable input, thats a bit harder and you would need some tuner or a DVD/VCR player with a tuner that has the standard RCA red and white audio output.

No sound through tv speakers

Well the problem is that the PS3 only allows output on one channel. So, this is only going to be optical out, or hdmi, or even AV. You only get one option for the output.

Now, if your TV has the capability.. Run the sound through the HDMI to the TV and then let the TV output the digital sound to the surround system. This will give you the option of turning off the surround and re-enabling the TV's stereo speakers.

I hope this gives you an idea of what the problem is. If I were you, I'd just do as I said. This is exactly how I have mine setup. I have a 600w sub on the surround, so late night movies can't be played on it without the neighbors being woke up. So, I simply disable the TV's output and use it's speakers. :)

Help!!!!!!!!.....lol

You probably need to go to control panel on your LG to turn off its speakers and configure the LG for the surround system. Helpful article: http://techgage.com/article/logitech_x-540_51_speakers/3

Volume

follow the below checklist :

Check1 : Is power for speakers on

Check2 : Are speakers connected correctly to laptop (fixcables)

Check3 : nothing on volume control is muted

Check 4 : try to check with other pc or laptop if speakers are working.

If speakers are working with other computer , then all you need to do is instal audio drivers from mother board CD which you get from hardware manufacturer....

If the speaker is not working with other PC

check 5: if all the wires are in good condtion

If yes.. then contact hardware manufacturer

If no.... fix wires correctly ......

Hope this anwwers your problem.... thanks..Robosoft.
