How to Transfer Pictures or Video from your Cellphone/Mobile to your Computer

With the increasing quality of Cellphone camera's , more and more people are wanting to copy their pictures from their phone's to their computers.

There are basically 4 ways to accomplish this.

  1. USB Cable
  2. Bluetooth
  3. Card Transfer
  4. E-mail
# 1 USB Cable

One of the most convenient ways to transfer your pictures is to use the USB cable if your phone was supplied with one. If your phone was not bought with a cable , you can purchase the cable from the store where the the phone was bought.

You will usually also need the manufacturer's software like Nokia pc suite for Nokia phones which can be downloaded from the website of the manufacturer. Here is a list for the most popular phone brands sites.

Nokia
Samsung
Sony-Erricson
Motorola
LG

Many phones also support the option to use the phone as a flash drive so to speak. When you insert a cable , the mobile would typically ask in what mode to use the cable in for instance : Print , Storage or Nokia mode. If you select the storage mode , you may transfer your pictures from the phone the same way you would from a flash drive.

# 2 Bluetooth

If you are using a laptop or bluetooth enabled PC , using bluetooth can also be a handy way to transfer your pictures. To do this , enable bluetooth on you computer and from the taskbar , right click on the bluetooth icon and select recieve a file.

Then on your phone , go the the picture or video you want to send and select options and send via bluetooth. This will vary from phone to phone , so look around for the send with bluetooth option.

Your phone will then search for a computer in range and once you have found your computer , hit the send button.

The transfer will then take place and your computer will ask you where to save the image.

# 3 Card Transfer

Most phones these days have a removable memory card. This is a easy way to transfer a large amount of content from your phone to your computer.

Simply remove the SD or Micro SD card from your phone (refer to your manual) and insert it into a external card reader or your laptop's built in card reading unit.

You may also need a micro to sd converter which can be bought either with a micro SD card or separately from most chain department stores.

You will then be able to transfer the content like you would from your digital camera.

# 4 E-mail

If your cellphone supports e-mail and it is set up , and you only need to transfer one or two pictures , e-mail can be very helpful.

To do this , go to the image you wish to send and in the options , select send via e-mail. This option differs between brands and models so check your manual. You can then simply send the picture to your PC e-mail address and retrieve the image from there.

Please remember to rate this tip if you found it useful.

Kind Regards

Can u help me transfer my mobile pics to my pc? Nina

Mam Nina<
Is your unit equipt or have a USB? if that so,just simply connect it to yoyr PC,and anytime you have connected it a baloon on the screen of your pc will pops up to let you know that it is already activated. If that so,you can go to"my computer,Then right click for the" Removable disk (E)", or what is assigned in your comp..Once you click it you can see the files stored in your Cellphone.
Now,if you already opened the files, you can save your file( The picture you are saying) to your PC by this way:
1. Right click to the name of file you want to save or
Transfer.
2. a menu will appear and right click for the "Send"
3. A menu will appear and right click to the
" My Documents"
just follow these and your files will be saved to your PC ..
But when your CP dont have a USB?No problem, you can buy a USB bluetooth and install in your computer.
After installing it,you can perform transfering files just like the way you are sending bluetooth through cellphone to cellphone.( but to tell you to have a little patience in transfering or sending files becoz it has a little bit slower than a USB, the reason that USB is direct or line to line ,so it is more faster than a bluetooth which is through "signal."

Cant unload photos from phone to P.C.

Most camera phones have the ability to send photos in the form of an email. Of course, this is the way wireless providers would like you to do it since they get to charge additional fees for sending the picture mail. Normally, wireless providers charge a flat rate to send a picture as an email through their network, but you could also be billed on a per-kilobyte rate for the data used.

To e-mail photos to yourself, you'll need to make sure your phone is configured to send e-mails. Most phones purchased from the carrier are setup out of the box, but you'll need to determine that on a per-case basis. The process for selecting an image to send will vary on the individual phone model, so refer to the instructions in your telephone manual for instructions. When you're ready to send the picture, place your e-mail address in the "To:" field, and hit send. Bluetooth 33f594066a59a60a--32a96d82-11026e4c1f5--7f131573051387.jpgIf your phone is equipped with short-range Bluetooth wireless technology, you can often send images to a similarly equipped notebook or desktop computer. The best part about Bluetooth is that images transferred in this manner are completely free to you. Whether you send 1 picture or 50, it's still free. Not all phones are equipped with Bluetooth, but even less computers come with the technology built-in. However, you can add the technology to your computer by purchasing a USB Bluetooth module from a local electronics retailer. Don't worry about it being expensive, considering most modules retail for about $25.

Sending photos to a computer using Bluetooth is fairly simple... once you pair the phone to your computer. Sometimes the pairing process goes smoothly, and sometimes it doesn't. Either way, once you've gotten the two talking to each other, sending images to and from the phone is a snap. On top of this, Bluetooth allows you to send images and files to other Bluetooth phones without wires or charges.

Not all Bluetooth phones will be able to send images to a computer. Some carriers disable the file transfer profile before the phone is sent to the stores for sale, thereby forcing the users to either buy a data kit or send e-mails. This is what's referred to as the "no free lunch" approach to customer service. It's reasonable for them to assume that most would not spend fifty-dollars on an accessory, so they'll get to charge your account for every picture you send or make a monthly fee on a picture package.
Data Cable Any phone that has a built-in camera will most likely be able to connect to a computer via a USB data connection kit. Data kits are phone specific, so you'll need to make sure you get the correct one for your model phone. The kit includes the cable that plugs your phone into your computer's USB jack, as well as software to assist in transferring files to and from the phone.

Once connected, you'll have the same file transfer abilities as you would with Bluetooth, except with a wire. Unfortunately, you cannot transfer images to anything but a computer, so don't expect to move a picture from your phone to a friend's. Though data connect kits are often more expensive than Bluetooth modules, they do transfer files at a faster speed.
Removable Memory Cards 33f594066a59a60a--32a96d82-11026e4c1f5--7d412120809090.jpgMany newer phones have a slot for an external memory cards, especially models with higher resolution cameras. Since the images are stored on a removable memory card, transferring images to the computer is a breeze. All you need to do is pick up an external memory card reader from a local electronics store. You'll need to know what kind of card your phone uses before you go shopping to make sure the reader you buy supports the correct format.

Once your card reader is in place, merely remove the memory card from your phone, and insert it into the card reader. The computer will recognize the card and assign it a drive letter. Actually moving images is as easy as using the "cut and paste" commands in Windows Explorer. Just reinsert the card back into the phone when you're ready to take new pictures

Hope this may help;

Regards,

Upload a photo into my computer

There are two ways to transfer your pics-
1. Bluetooth (wirelessly)
2. USB Cable

Since the USB part requires you to have Motorola Phone Tools, i'm not touching that part.

For Bluetooth, your computer needs to have bluetooth. If not, you can get it from any computer store for about $5. It looks like a regular pen drive. Once attached to a PC, it installs itself. and after it's done, you can just right-click the blue 'B' icon in the system tray, click on receive a file, and immediately send it from your cellphone.

How to send files thru Bluetooth from Razr:

open multimedia>pictures
open the picture you want to send
press the 'menu' key (top, middle)
select 'Copy'
select 'Yes" when it asks to turn Bluetooth on
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on your computer, do the right clicking part that i told earlier
------------------------------------------------------------------------
search for new devices on your Razr.
select your computer's name.

This is the standard method of sending files to and from a PC & cellphone.
