Do you see frost built up on the back wall of the freezer? if you do it is very likely a deforsting failure that is causing the fresh food to not be cold while the freezer still works.

its most likely ice build up, if this is a bottom freezer type. It could still be ice on the fan even if its a top freezer or side freezer. that's where I would look first.

it cannot be done the freezer cools the refrigerator thru a damper vent door from the freezer to the refrigerator
