95 sl500 check engine light reset and comes back on after it sits over night. any idea?

What code is it throwing ? Some codes are what are called two trip codes ! You clear the codes an start an drive the vehicle ,no check engine light . Park the vehicle over night an bam next time you start an drive the vehicle the check engine light comes back on .

??There are two types of DTC's, 1 trip DTC's and 2

trip DTC's

??A 1 trip DTC is for a condition that requires

immediate attention such as a catalyst damaging

misfire.

??A 2 Trip DTC is one that a condition must be found

during 2 consecutive trips such as an EGR fault.

??Most Monitors do not set a DTC and light the MIL

when a vehicle fails a test for the first time during a

DRIVE CYCLE. If a test is failed on a second

consecutive DRIVE CYCLE the MIL will light and a

DTC is stored in the vehicles powertrain control
module (PCM).

I HAVE A FEDDERS AIR CONDITIONER MODEL AED24E7F-C THIS UNIT TRIPS THE RESET BUTTON ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE IT RUNS FOR HOURS OR DAYS ON END AND THEN TRIPS. IT TAKE AWHILE AFTER THAT BEFORE I CAN RESET...

The reset button is part of the cord. The cord has built in arc detection. This is a complex circuit that monitors the unit and senses potentially dangerous sparks or arcing inside the internal components of the A/C (motors, switches, etc.) It sounds like the problem is getting worse - as they usually do. Sparking and arcing happen when dirt, corrosion, etc. accumulates and can result in pitted contacts. All of these conditions only make the sparks and arcs worse. Page 1 of the manual (left column) says this:

If the Arc Detection Device has tripped, the
reset button will pop up.

Follow these steps to reset the Arc Detection
Device:

1. Unplug unit from electrical outlet
2. Press the reset button
3. Plug the unit back into electrical outlet
4. Check to see if power has returned to the unit

Testing

You should test the Arc Detection Device
equipped power cord monthly, after every major
electrical storm, or if power to your Room Air
Conditioner has been interrupted.

Follow these steps to test the Arc Detection
Device:

1. Unplug unit from electrical outlet
2. Press the reset button
3. Plug the unit back into electrical outlet
4. Press test button. Unit should trip and reset
button will pop up.
5. Press reset button again for use
If above test fails, stop using the air
conditioner and contact customer service by
calling the following toll-free number:
1-800-332-6658 or email:
[email protected]

I hope this helps & good luck!

Just put air conditioner back in for the summer.. plugged it in and ran a test on it then nothing... any suggestion why it wont turn on..

Could have quite possibly tripped the circuit breaker. If it is a 230volt unit, there will be two breakers, they are usually joined together and probably 20 amp. Trip them all the way back and then all the way forward. If it is a smaller 120 volt unit there will only be one breaker, more than likely a 15 or 20 amp. Hope this works. Also, on newer models the plug may contain a reset button. It will be right on the head of the plug itself.

Air condition wont turn on

Do you have enough power to unit? Check plug for any loose wires on unit, with unit unplugged of course.

Zenith ZW6500R Air conditioner No Power

The reset button on the power cord has to be really pushed in until you feel a click. It is a soft button, so you might think you have pushed it in enough but you must feel the click. After the first reset you no longer have to press the button unless you have other electrical power issues that trip the button.

GFI plug trips when pluged in, no reset

You are trying to draw too much power from the dedicated electrical line, or you may have an outlet that is needing replaced. Try to use another plug, in another room to test
