Hello,
It seem issue with the output pluge.
The best way to check is to connect to a dvd or tv.
Aslo try using a headphone on the laptop and check if that also have the same problem.
Let me know if you have any issue.
Thanks for using Fixya.com
Thanks

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.
If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)
if you are able to hear normally from the speakers and not from the headphones possible reasons could be: the audio is muted or very low there is a mute switch on the headphone that is turned on the headphone is not firmly plugged in or is in the wrong site eg microphone hope it helps please inform if it helps..
did you try another set of head phones? the jack for the headphone where it was soldered most likely broke off you can take apart and try and resolder it.
right click my computer--> properties-->hardware-->device manager-->sound devices-->find realtek hd audio-->right click-->disable-->OK wait at least 3 min repeat and enable
I had the same problem with my Acer 5570 and I just fixed it. What I did is to go to Control Panel > Sounds And Audio Devices >Hardware >On Devices click on Reatek High Definition Audio >Click Properties > On Devise Usage choose the option Do not use this devise (disable) > click OK >then plug in your headphones, click on Realtek High Definition Audio properties again and click on Enable Devise **with the headphones plugged in**. It worked for me.
