I am also having problems hooking an "in source" into the Magnavox CMWR10D6. I have everything else working. I have my satellite hooked into the Magnavox, which is hooked out to a RF modulator to my older TV. I have an LG DVD HDD (only working like a VHS since its burner is shot!!) hooked from its OUT to the IN of the Magnavox. I can't seem to see anything from the LG at all. Is there an input selection key or something on the Magnavox remote to get these two to communicate?? Please help.

OK. Can you let me finish my sentence? I had my Magnavox CMWR10D6 plugged into a SD set top box, which worked fine. When I upgraded to a HD set top, I just switched over the leads and assumed everything was fine. It took me a while to realise that the DVD and set top box were incommunicado. I have tried as many lead combinations that I can think of, as well trying the source on the remote. It makes the recorder component totally superfluous.set box is olin brand, model hvbt-1800, i can receive one or the other signal/dvd/tv, but not without phsically altering the leads.

I have Magnavox DVD player/vcr DV225MG9, does it record from vhs onto dvds? And if not, what do I need to get so that I can copy all of these old vhs movies to dvds?

it won't record dvd's its only a dvd player. only the vcr records
if the vhs movies your trying to record are movies like star wars and stuff like that it's copy protected and no worth the trouble. if it's home movies or something you recorded from tv they might work. if you get a dvd recorder/vhs player.

Need to know if I can record from dvd to vcr on a magnavox ZV420MWB vcr/dvd combo

Magnavox ZV420MWB VCR/DVD Combo
The answer is YES YOU CAN! Take advantage of one-touch recording from videotapes to DVD+/-R and RW discs or from DVDs to VHS tapes. A variety of different inputs also let you record from compatible camcorders, external TV tuners or cable boxes.

CONSUMER ALERT: This model does not have a built-in tuner for recording TV programs and will not record copy-protected tapes or discs. For more information, call the Federal Communications Commission at 1-888-225-5322 (TTY: 1-888-835-5322) or visit the Commission's digital television website at: www.dtv.gov.

Dvd to vcr?

Plug the DVD connections into the INPUT on the back of the VCR. This is sending the signal from the DVD player INTO the VCR.
If you are familiar with the VHS to VHS, then remove the VCR and replace it with the DVD player.

I hope this helps :)

If the question changes it will send me an automatic message. So if this was not enough info, just let me know! I'll actually hook mine up to record this way then I'll be able to tell you step by step if need be.

It sounds like your cables are connceted ok, but what you neede to do is to be able the switch from one video mode to the other so lets go through the cable and vrc conncetions again just to make sure. From your cable set top box connect your component video (RGB) video out to your TV (RGB) video in via the (RGB)cables. From your VCR connect your composite video (yellow) out to your TV composite video in withe the composite video (yellow) cable. From your VCR (Left & Right audio out)connect your left and right audio connections (White and Red) to the Audio in of the TV (Left and Right). Whith this setup you should be able to use the TV to switch between the two A/V inputs using the remote control.
