Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
You nailed it buddy something in the spin tube assembly or the little clutch deal isn't right. they can look good but not be good also the unit won't make a good spin due to the slipping and clothes will still be wet. if the unit works okay and the noise isn't loud you could let it go but I wouldnt and if you did the gearcase I bet you wouldn't either. I have a trick for removing the gearcase without even taking the case off the unit. real easy 30 minute trans swap can chat you through it if you like.

Hello terilym - From what you have described it sounds like you possibly have foreign objects such as coins or safety pins in the tub or pump. I suggest unplugging the washer and carefully check the tub and to verify that the drum is also not damaged. If noise continues after washer is restarted, objects may be in the actual pump. Contact a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the unit.
