Re: I HAVE WAVEY LINES ON MY TOSHIBA 42H83 RP TOO!
Wavey lines all over screen? does piture inmprove when it get warmer? this to me is indication of the "hypermodule signal processor" this can be fix but s a difficult repair. have to replace several VERY SMALL capacitors not a repair for novice.

Ur tv convergence are dead.U must know how to solders?U must replaced 2 STK convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self. The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
The VVPU14 hyper module in that unit is a trickey installation because they have their can tabs soldered to the motherboard and next to each of the solder points on the pad are fine wire traces on top and bottom of the board that can easily be broken or over soldered... Check there first, with a fine magnifier.
To answer your question, no, there are no resets or anything else you need to do to after the H/M install.
Distorted in what way WAVEY? there is a problem in the past with 11 very small capacitors that can cause this did it help when it warmed up? The trouble is these capactors can be replaced. but it take someone whe can do very difficult solder called surface mount. i do maybe 2 a month its very labor intensive i am not saying this is the prblem but this set does have that history
Most of these Toshiba sets have a "hyper board" that processes all the signal and a lot of them are going bad---lots of surface mounted filter caps on the board dry out and usually it begins that lines in the picture and after several minutes the problem slowly clears up and or goes away---as time goes on it takes longer and longer for it to go away----For most of these sets the only way to repair is remove the board and send it out for rebuild--rebuild of the board and labor may be more then the TV set is worth.
sounds like you might have the hypermodule capacitor problem. there is a cuircit board in this set that has 11 very very small capacitors that go bad this is charistic of wavey lines that go away after warming up. and eventally not going away. we repair about 2 of these a month at our shop. we would loved to just replace the board but this board is not availble we cant find it. so we very carefully resolder these caps. with magnifers and twezzers. so i dont recomend anybody attempt this except experience technician., you can easly damage this board and once damaged u cant find the board.
I just got finished repairing the same model . The convergence modules are bad cost of repair is 250.00 for a service center to fix. My advice would be call your local service center tell them what i told you bad convergence ic and ask them how much they charge,
