I have a GE JGB920 gas range which has developed a problem that is not covered in the manual. The probe and bake indicators blink alternately and I am unable to use the oven. Pressing clear stops the blinking lights but after about 10 seconds they start blinking again. Unplugging and replugging the range doesn't solve the problem either. Does this mean the oven igniter has failed?

Do you have the manual? Normally , if I remember right it is either a sensor or control board. If it is a problem that can be solved w/o a tech the manual will give you sugesstions. I could be wrong on the code but you could try unplugging it for15-30 min then plugging it back in and try again. Don't have the manual? I'll try to find the code reference if I can.
I had the same problem. I resolved it yesterday. Detailed instructions can be found if you access my inquiry under the user name bhmlton. If you can't find them, then let me know and I'll get them to you another way.
I think it's the ignitor. Ours has been doing a very slow lighting for quite a while. I found if I did a cleaning cycle it seems to work a little better... otherwise a new ignitor ( Ours is gas )... now it is flashing the probe and bake lights alternately and will not turn the oven on at all.... not so impressed at this point.....
