GE JGB920 Gas Range problem

I have a GE JGB920 gas range which has developed a problem that is not covered in the manual. The probe and bake indicators blink alternately and I am unable to use the oven. Pressing clear stops the blinking lights but after about 10 seconds they start blinking again. Unplugging and replugging the range doesn't solve the problem either. Does this mean the oven igniter has failed?

Plugging in the probe did not fix the problem. I tried to take the probe socket out but the wire is too short to pull it out from the inside of the oven. What is the trick to getting the probe socket out?

I had this problem 18 mos. ago and had a service man come out but it would not repeat it. It solved itself until this week and now it starts blinking probe when it reaches 238 deg. but stops at 300 deg. No idea what to do. If I switch from bake to convention bake it works fine.

I have a three year old GE Profile oven model #J25968SHSS . The probe and bake lights are blinking intermittently and the broil, proof and warm controls do not operate the stove. There does not appear to be any information regarding this issue in the manual.  The 5F code appears when the broil and bake buttons are depressed at the same time.. Can you assist me with repair ideas?

I have a GE JGB920 Gas Range problem. One igniter does not work. How do I change out the igniter?

Most gas ranges only have one ignitor (for the burners), so if one of the burners is not working, I would inspect the connection between the ignitor and the burner...not the igniter itself.

Do you have the manual? Normally , if I remember right it is either a sensor or control board. If it is a problem that can be solved w/o a tech the manual will give you sugesstions. I could be wrong on the code but you could try unplugging it for15-30 min then plugging it back in and try again. Don't have the manual? I'll try to find the code reference if I can.

If this is a newer range, the instructions to recalibrate should be in the manual that came with the stove

I had the same problem. I resolved it yesterday. Detailed instructions can be found if you access my inquiry under the user name bhmlton. If you can't find them, then let me know and I'll get them to you another way.

GE Profile XL44 range

I think it's the ignitor.   Ours has been doing a very slow lighting for quite a while.  I found if I did a cleaning cycle it seems to work a little better... otherwise a new ignitor  ( Ours is gas )...  now it is flashing the probe and bake lights alternately and will not turn the oven on at all....  not so impressed at this point.....
