Do you still have the Cd that came with the Printer when you bought it? If so, a pdf format user manual is included on the Cd. To read the manual from the cd, insert the Cd into the Cd-rom drive, it'll autoplay, now click "?" on the autoplay menu, then read the user's manual. (if the cd isn't autoplay, open "My Computer" double click the "2400 series" icon, and click "?")
You also have another alternative, if you've already installed the printer's softwares and drivers, click "Start" > "All Programs" > "Lexmark 2400 series.." > "User's guide", open it and you can read the manual. This is the simplest and easiest option.
first of all, plug you computer, then press the power button, if it has windows installed, proceed to install the drivers of the printer/scanner, yes, that CD they gave you when you bought the scanner. If it has no windows installed, check if when you bought the computer they gave you a windows CD, insert it in the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer, follow the instructions given by the windows CDROm
