The easiest fix is to go to Edit>Special Characters, find the "a" symbol under "Latin", and insert it wherever you need one.

In the short term, you could attach an external keyboard and solve your problem. In the long term, it is risky to continue to use a laptop into which liquid has been spilled without having it professionally cleaned. Contaminants such as soft drink sugar or coffee solids can dry on critical components and eventually burn them out, requiring expensive logic board replacements. If you are going to discard your old iBook this may not be an issue to you, but if you would like it to retain its value, a cleaning is in order.
Additionally, if you use the Migration Assistant in your new desktop to transfer the files from your old iBook, you will not need to type anything on your old iBook, and the migration will be complete and automatic. Launch the Migration Assistant on your new machine and follow the instructions.

My GATEWAY pc laptop keyboad letter WEOPB BACKSPACE and #0 dont work.im now using on-screen keyboard.what shall i do.please advice.tnx

Seems like you have spilt liquid on the keyboard?

the liquid causes connections between the circuit board in keyboard which causes the keys to not work properly.

u can try take off the keys and get to keyboard, you might be able to clean it with isopropyl alchohol and a cotton bud to fix it.

if you cant get the keyboard out then there is nothing you can do!

Keyboard problem with an Asus Pro Series 31: Running Vista Premium

Hey,
According to me one of his keys is function keys (like : Fn,Ctrl, alt, shift) is stuck or gets stuck now and again , so whenever in msword u try and type nething its actually getting pressed ctrl + something, and hence weird functions keep on popping.
This generally happens either when he has spilt milk/water ne other liquid onto the keyboard, Solution to this would have to replacement of keyboards(Some keyboards are designed in such a way that liquid can be removed from then but i don't really know how).
Another reason would be over/improper use of the keyboard and particularly those keys causing them to get stuck
solution in such a case would be to remove the particular key and try cleaning it.
This problem is pretty common in laptops all you can do i use more carefully...i dont think there is any fool proof solution.

Viewsonic Tablet PC keyboard issue.

Try reseating the cable that connects the keyboard first.

If that doesnt help there may be liquid around the connector and it needs to be cleaned off to keep the circuit from shorting out. You will need to find someone with the appropriate chemicals and may have to take the laptop further apart to clean it all up.

This is why when anyone gets a liquid spill i recommend getting it torn down right away and cleaned up, as it can damage things you cant even see. If the liquid has been in there too long it may not be repairable.

Good luck!
