Help! My screen won't reconfigure to anything but 640 by 480 pixels and now it doesn't seem to be able to find the right driver. I may need glasses, but this is ridiculous!

IBMad: I have an Acer 1710 laptop only a few years old. Everything was fine then I turned it on and poof. I attempted to use the 'troubleshoot' and tried to reconfigure the monitor through the control panel~>display~>properties....etc... and the wizard. Cannot find the necessary driver list to update the driver.... no listing at all for available drivers..

My computer screen is showing 4 bit and i could not change to 32 bit, can u help me ?? even if i press 640 by 480 pixels it still wont change( and i did press apply)

If it is not allowing to change settings and it is on lowest it must be driver issue. Uninstal video driver by right clicking on my computer, choose manage and choose device manager on left. On right choose display and right click on driver and click uninstall. Once done restart computer and if still same go to manufacturers web site and download newest driver. Hope this helps.

Screen icons and picture too big

What is the OS??

Right click on the desktop and click on "Properties", "seettings" and set screen resolution to at least 1024 X 768 for LCD monitor or 800 X 600 for CRT monitors.

If they are set to those then there may be a prob with video driver.

Need more in depth explaination.
