Wireless ruter I have purchased a Philips wireless router SNA 6500all lights come on except the "online Light" If I try to connect isit says no dialing tone. What am I doing wRrong

Wireless is supposed to blink. Check to see if the power outlet might be giving out. If not, then you might have to replace the router.

Power-off your cable-modem (or DSL-modem).
Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the modem to the WAN port on your router.
Use another Ethernet cable to connect from one LAN port on your router to the network-port on your computer (desktop/laptop).
Turn the modem on.
Turn the router on.
Turn the computer on.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like:
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 1234.678.0.1
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://1234.678.0.1
to access the web-server "inside" the router.
Run the Network Setup Wizard.
Run the Wireless Networking Setup Wizard,
to pick an SSID, an encryption-level (use 'WPA')
and to pick a network-password.
Now, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer, and try using the wireless-adapter inside your computer.

ISSUE: No wireless light in the Belkin Router and not anle to go online
.

SOLUTION:(Wireless light will lit up if u connect any device to the network)
Step 1: First hard wire Modem>Router>Computer
Step 2: Open internet explorer and type in this (192.168.2.1) address in address bar
Step 3: You see Belkin Router Ste Up Page
Step 4: In top right corner you can find internet status it would say Connected or Not Connected
Step 5: In your for left left screeen you can find list of options in that click on "Restore Factory Default"
Step 6: It will ask you password leave it balnk and click "SUBMIT"
Step 7: Click on "Restore Defaults" Button and It will show you two warning messages click "OK" "OK"
Step 8: Then you can see the router will reboot once it is completed you will be back to the Home Page
Step 9: In your for left left screeen click on "MAC Address"
Step 10:It will ask you password leave it balnk and click "SUBMIT"
Step 11:You can see Clone computer's MAC address Button Click on It "CLONE"
Step 12:Then you can see the router will reboot once it is completed you will be back to the Home Page
Step 13:In top right corner you can find internet status it would say Connected if its not
Step 14:Unplug the Power Cord from MODEM and RUTER wait for 2 minutes
Step 15:Plug the Power cord to Modem first and wait for 2 miuntes
Step 16:Plug the Power cord to Router and wait for 2 miuntes
Step 17:You can see Modem light in router will lit up standerd Green
Step 18:In top right corner you can find internet status it would say Connected
Step 19:In your for left left screeen click on 'Channel & ssid'
Step 20:Set the Wireless channel to 6 and in SSID type in your New network name may type in your first name
Step 21:In your for left left screeen click on " Wifi Protected Setup"
Step 22:"Disable" the Wifi Protected Setup
step 23:In your for left left screeen click on "Security"
Step 24:In the Security mode select "64 bit wep"
Step 25:Select Key 1 option and in the Key1 type in any 10 digit nunmber's that gonna be Wireless network security key
Step 26:Now go head scan for your wireless network name from any wireless computer and access it
Step 27:Type in the 10 digit network security key
Step 28:Now you can connect to the netywork and you can go online wirelessly from your wireles computers
Step 29: Now you can see the Wireless light lit up in your wireless router
Now your Good to go.... Check you can go online..Good Luck...Budy

try resetting the router first, then upgrade the firmware on the router & reconfigure the router

you should your lan to ruter cable install it again carefully.

ok both computers will need a wireless card or stick you will need to install the software that came with them on both computers, them insert or hook up your cards after you do that you will need to open the software you installed and have it find available netorks if you see yours click on ( connect to) if you have enabled wep you will need to enter your password it should connect

type ip adress in the browser it may ask for a user name and password after enering that you should be able to get online.

The 2wire router wireless light comes only when a system is connected to it wireless.

Please post the system that you are using and also what exactly when you try to connect via wireless.
