No service manual or opo manual. second hand when i got it. been reliable up 2 now. have meters tools and reasonable electro skills.

  • ady_m Mar 15, 2008

Its a Dishlex Global 450. The whole cycle runs thru as normal, only with nh in the display when its on a water heating cycle or the dry cycle.

as i said the fault is intermittent. its cold fed only. recently had a major breakdown after nudging the door closed from the totally open position... with my foot! ooops. it was a lead off the transformer on the board that had broken the solder. fixed that up and off she went again.

havent taken it apart yet but would like some advice where to look.

    thanks

HE error code on samsung dishwasher?

This is usually a failed HEATING ELEMENT or HEATER RELAY. Disconnect power & remove the dishwasher from under the counter.
The HEATER RELAY is located on the right side of the D/W. A metal panel/shield (on the right side) must be removed to gain access for testing.
Testing the HEATING ELEMENT *can* be done from the bottom/front---but is easier if the D/W is placed on it's back---and removing the bottom cover/panel.
In many cases I have seen failed HEATING ELEMENTS or RELAYS on Samsung D/Ws---in homes which had an INSTANT WATER HEATER (AKA: Tankless Water Heater).
This type of Water Heater requires a minimum GALLON-PER-MINUTE of water flow---before it will *heat* the water.
Many dishwashers have a lower GPM flow rate than required---this results in NO HOT WATER at all during water fill.
The D/W heating sytem remains "on" for long periods of time---each time the D/W is used.
Eventually the HEATING ELEMENT or HEATER RELAY fails

LDS4821ST HE error...new heating element already installed

The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate a problem with the water heating circuit. Turn off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes, allowing time for the appliance to cool; then restart the cycle. If error returns, check the heating element for continuity and check the wiring harness for any obvious signs of damage. If the heating element shows infinite resistance after testing with an Ohm meter, replace it.

Type 60870 not heating water!Have a wiring giagram for trouble shooting?

Could be: faulty power board (completly or only relay for heating element), faulty wiring between heating element and power board, faulty heating element (interruption, short circuit or current leakage,on some heaters faulty thermal protection).

Depending on the model, the display shows the i60 fault code or the LED end of the program will flash 6 times (only model without display).

The dishwasher has failed to heat with water in a reasonable time or has failed to detect the water heating element.

Hello Brien, First let me start by apologizing for the difficulty you've had here at FixYa. It is unfortunate the assistance (or lack of) was not helpful or specific to your inquiry, but I'd like to attempt to make amends. I am quite familiar with your model and in fact have serviced Bosch for around 15yrs. When you receive the timer (It is very rare to need one in a Bosch, more likely stat on the inside door panel) I'd be more than willing to guide you through the process and I will even send you a complimentary service manual if you provide an email address. I will understand if you have closed the door on any further input from "experts" here at FixYa but will do what I can to help if you're open. Sorry once again and good luck going forward. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Have changed heating element, stat, but water still cold

Check and see if the replaced heating element has the continuity to the coils. If so the fault can be failure of the switch or the contactor/relay for the heater. Also the program controller must activate the relay to supply voltage to the coils. so check this line of supply to confirm.

Probably the heater relay - do you have any fault codes?

Whirpool Quiet III Clean light blinks

You, my friend, have the dreaded 'blinking clean light.' This means that the electronic control has detected that for three consecutive cycles,
1. the heater hasn't come on
OR
2. the water hasn't come into the dishwasher
OR
2.5. the water came in, but wasn't spraying around inside.
OR
3. the heater came on, but the temperature probe did not detect a 3 F degree rise in temp in a certain alotted time. (Is the water supply unusually cold?)

Originally, this fault code could happen if any of these happened just once. Now they program the elec control to wait until the 3rd consecutive ocurrence.
First, let's clear that fault code.
Since you did not mention any unusual sounds, I will assume the water is filling and spraying around inside.
Press 'heated dry', 'normal', 'heated dry', 'normal'. This activated the test cycle, and clears any fault codes. After 10 seconds, press 'cancel'. Open the door and carefully see if the heating element came on. (It should be hot.)
If it did come on, it's an intermittent problem, and could be related to the door switch. Some earlier models would allow the dishwasher to run with only one of the two contacts closed, but the heater would not come on. Be careful to close the door tight each time. They have redesigned the switch (or is it the door latch?) to ensure both contacts get closed.
If the heater did not come on, then you might need (in order of higest to lowest probability) a heater, a heater thermostat, or the electronic control board (heater relay.)
I haven't ever seen a failed temperature sensor, though it is theoretically possible.
You can continue using your dishwasher until it is repaired. Though, you may have to reset the fault code 2-3 times a week.

Good luck!
