there should be a black cap on top to hold that float in place if it is gone you will need to buy a new tank as this (the Float) is molded into the tank

Although this was posted under kitchen ranges I suspect it is a portable carpet cleaner
such as a Bissell. The heater unit in many of these becomes blocked and will not allow
water to circulate to the brushes. (I learned this after replacing the pump on my own unit). If you have a compressor you may be able to dislodge the buildup.
Hope this is helpful.

I bought a used stf 15 bunn coffee maker , i hooked it up to the water line , and plugged it in , my problem is that it will run about enough water for about 2 pots , i hear it click when the first pot...

Yes that is possible. There is a pressure regulator that is normally mounted on the back of the coffee maker. On older models the filter and pressure regulator may be inside the cabinet accessable by removing the bottom panel of the coffeemaker. The pressure regulator is a hexagon shaped usually brass fitting about 3 inches in length. The filter looks much the same. Both of these brass fittings should be somewhere in the water line between the wall faucet and the water inlet of the coffee maker. If not there the unit will overflow if you water pressure is over 40 psi in your location. These fittings are available from restaurant equipment stores and on Ebay for example. There is one other thing you may try. If you take off the panel directly behind the coffee pot you will see two adjustments. One is a temperature adjustment and looks like a small pin sticking up with a smaller pin at 90 degrees from it. The other adjustment is a timer. There will be a dial on the timer. This timer sets the amount of water per cycle by controlling the time that the fill valve stays open. Turn the timer counterclockwise by about 25% and hit the brew button again. If it overflows reduce the timer again. If you don't have a pressure regulator, you may not be able to turn the timer low enough to prevent the overflow situation. Good luck!

We have a Bialetti Concerto espresso maker and all of a sudden we could not get the espresso to flow through the handle. Suggestions

Same problem here...try using a lime remover mixed with water, run through machine several times followed by several tanks of water. Also consider changing to filtered or spring water if this solves your problem. Worked for us. Good luck!

When i put the water heating on my boiler gets the water hot but just heats the radiators, even when the thermostat and controls for the central heating is of and get no hot water at all

you have a zone valve and a tank stat that controls the temp of your hot water. when the water reaches the temp set of the tank stat the zone valve closes and stops water going to the tank. turn up the stat and see if the valve opens. you will hear a wherring noise. if not working you may have to change one or both of these but you can put the valve on manual by moving the lever in the side of it to then manual position till you get it fixed
