Question about Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

I've owned my new Pioneer CDJ1000mk3's for 6 months and they have had hardly any use. The jog wheel on the right 1 in my road case only spins with no mixing ability at all. It doesnt curve the sound to control the mix. They are brand new. With the Deck on vinyl it stops play when I hold the top of the jog wheel down, but no back spin or sound curve at all. Everything else works fine like my left deck. It seems like it might be a small problem to fix. Please contact me direct on 0414 840 333 to discuss my options and where the closest Audio Pioneer service centre is on the Gold Coast. Kind Regards Matt Darmody

Well, there does not appear to be a Pro DJ agent on the Goldy or Brisbane. You may have to ring them to find out where the best place to take yo deck is. /worst case, it may have to go to Sydney if no-one up here is into them.

Thanks NOT for the "thanks for trying" rating Matt. Equates to a "thanks but no thanks" in here, and bumps my rating down as same!! A Helpful rating may have been more on the money...yeah.

You wont be getting a call direct on your mobile from this site, from me, or from Pioneer, or anywhere in the public domain for that matter. I had given you all the info you needed to get your problem sorted. You just needed to call a 1800 number, YOU have to do that.

Radio tuning

PIONEER VSX-D903S - A/V Receiver
PIONEER CU-VSX079 - Remote

Here's the basics: Make sure your receiver is in the Tuner mode, by selecting Tuner on either the remote (grey button), on the receiver, or from the GUI menu. (The display will also show TUNER.) There are a couple of different ways to tune a station. One method is with the remote. Use the Band button on the remote (or via the GUI display), or the FM/AM button on the receiver, to select the frequency type. Use the Freq/Ch buttons on the remote to tune, the number buttons for presets (30 presets total. Examples: Preset 5, simply press 5; Preset 15, enter 5-5; Preset 25, enter 5-5-5). You can also use the on-screen GUI menu and the remote to tune stations, using the lower grey buttons. If you want to tune directly, via the receiver, press Select, to switch between frequency tuning and presets (displays ST CALL) mode. Use the Multi-Jog dial to make your selection in either mode. The easiest way to program a station into a preset is to use the onscreen GUI menu. [NOTE: The GUI mode (TV Monitor Video Out, composite video) is active when an amber (orange) ring glows around the Multi-Jog dial (the GUI button on the receiver will also glow simultaneously). Use the remote lower grey buttons, or use the Multi-Jog dial and Select, to move the cursor and select commands on the TV. This A/V Receiver handles composite video/S-video, and Stereo/Dolby 3-Channel/Dolby Pro-Logic audio only. (Pre-ATSC/HD video, Pre-Dolby Digital/DTS multi-channel surround audio)]

Adjust speakers without remote

usually you can cycle though the settings on the front of your amp, using the jog dial. If not possible contact company for replacement remote. But I can do everything on the front of my receiver. By the number of buttond on this model you should be able to.

Pioneer VSX D903S ...HOW do i adjust the rear speaker volume....it is currently much too low

You make surround channel adjustments using the on-screen GUI interface. This can be done either by using the remote (recommended), or by using the appropriate controls on the receiver. [The GUI mode is active when the GUI button and the ring surrounding the Multi-Jog dial is glowing amber.]

IF the unidentified new Technics Integrated Amp has a PHONO section it will support the turntable.

IF the unidentified new Technics Integrated Amp has, say, a Tape Output, that could feed any Line Level input on the Pioneer. OUT to IN.

Main Board for a Pioneer VSX-401 where can I get one used or new at on the web and Pioneer dont make them any more

I haven't looked very hard for a replacement board but I did find a complete unit for bid on ebay. Right now the highest bid is $75.99. That's probably cheaper than a rebuilt board installed would cost. The item number is: 330527152294 in case you might be interested.
Hope this helps.

What sort of unit is it? Make and model. Most just pop off but not all. Some have a small c pin holding them on and if you try to force them you will brake the jog wheel

You can use WD-40 if there is a control pot which the knob is attached to. If there is a small PC board with no pot, don't spray with oil.
