Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television

Sound and Volume trouble

I started to have trouble with my Insignia 32" flat tv two weeks ago. When I turned on the tv the volume would not go on. If I turned the tv on and off a couple of times the volume would eventually go on. Three days ago the volume on all regular cable stations went off while I was watching tv. No amount of turning the tv on and off helped. The HD channels' (local) volume remained fine though. Yesterday while I was watching a movie on my xbox the speakers became filled with static. I checked the HD channels and they were also static filled. The regular channels still have no volume. Now if I turn off the tv for a few minutes the sound on both the HD channels and the xbox will be smooth for a minute or two and then fill with static. Should I just get external speakers or can the problem be fixed?

I am having the same issues with my flat screen Insignia. I bought it a year ago mid March and now I can't get the volume to work half the time. Every now and then turning off the T.V. works, but then the volume quits soon after. WTF? How can this issue be fixed?

just got off the line from best buy. no extended warrantee no luck. I bought mine in 11/07 also. they offered to send a tech out for $150 plus parts. I told them to stick. I let then know that I have bought thousands of dollars in merchandise and I will not be back. My sound does work on tv setting but none of the others. I do get dvd sound through it also so I know the speakers are good. Its just on the HD stuff. Does anybody know how to fix the guts?

I have a toshiba 32in tv. When you are watching it for no reason the volume goes off, if you turn the tv off then put tv back on the volume is back. But this keeps happening all the time.

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.

Volume reads green at level 60 but no sound. Cables are all in place.

Sound/volume problems seem to plague this model TV.
Check the electrolytic capacitors in the audio amplifier section - if the tops are puffed up, they're
blown, and that's why you have no audio.
FIX; replace blown caps
WORKAROUND: turn on closed captioning, or turn up audio on a nearby functioning TV tuned to the same channel.
CAUTION: turn the sound down below 60 - these audio circuits have a reputation for intermittently
coming back to life.

I have a Insignia 32 inch LCD TV Model number NS-LCD32. It recently started displaying no inputs. The backlight comes on but no inputs/ no sound. Green lines display if you press the menu, input, channel...

The first troubleshooting step would be to measure all the voltages from the power supply to the other circuits boards specially the 5 volts going to the main board. If you have the following: Insignia 6HA0112010 Power Supply, check FU502 for open conditions.
If all the voltages appear normal, then the main board should be replace since is hard to find individual components for a component level repair.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

No Sound

if you have dvd player then connect its audio out to your tv audio in. if no sound then, it might be that your audio amplifier inside your tv is the culprit. usually this happens when turning the volume fully.

Insignia 32 inch LCD TV: Can not change Channel or Volume !

I have one in my shop with the same problem. Power is the only function that works. I repaired the power supply six monts ago. Now it looks like a bad digital processor board which is non-repairable. I can't believe what's happened to the tv business. Absolutely disgusting!
