They can't. The memory sockets, along with the clips, are integrated onto and soldered to the mainboard of the laptop. The only repair is complete replacement of the mainboard and that would be more costly than replacing the unit with an new one.
This is either hardware or software, the only way to know for sure is to run a factory default recovery and if they are working then it would have been a windows issue (corruption) if they are not working then the ports if separate from mainboard can be purchased from Acer spares otherwise you may need a re-work of the mainboard or a new mainboard. ( please back up your data before trying a recovery)
go to this link and download the manual for the Acer notebook.. basically you have to remove the back cover , the one with most of the screws around it. Once you get the plastic cover off, you will see the one side of the mainboard, look for a coin shaped silver battery, remove the CMOS battery and replace with new one
in case yopu dont have the manual, link below can be downloaded -- but it will not show you how to remove the battery.
The laptop would need to be taken completely apart cause you have to get to the bottom of the motherboard. Once you can get there then you need a soldering iron to take the old one off and some solder and a soldering iron to put the new one on. Put the laptop back together and your laptop will be as good as new.
Hi, Turn the laptop upside down, the optical drive (CD rom) will now be on the left hand side, near the back of the laptop you will a release catch which is spring loaded, push that catch and slide the optical drive out of the laptop.
If you need the manual you can get it here for the Ferrari 3000 series >>>>>>
you need to buy a new jack for replacement. then solder the broken one out of the mainboard and clean the place and solder the new one. or some acer have a separet jack then that one is easy only to change.
