How to remove the battery (back) cover on ZTE Blade (brand new) without fear of breaking it?

The power button is at the top of the phone. At the bottom there's a little slot. Shove you finger nail in there (or something) and slide sideways to ease the plastic apart towards one corner of the phone. Work around until the whole plastic back of the phone just pops off.

Verizon voyager keypad doesnt work, only the speaker button and the end button work

I totally just had the same problem with my voyager. All the keys wouldn't work except for the end key and the speaker key. I just now was able to fix it. Here's how you do it: go to settings and tools on your touch screen, then phone settings, then security. Click reset default. This will bring your preference settings back to normal without deleting your user data. your phone will turn off. When you turn it back on the keys will work :) Hope this helps! It sure made my day!

Env2 got wet, front keypad having problmes, "o.k" button doesn't work can I remove front cover, how??

This just happened to me last night. I FIXED IT!

The bottom half was working, the top keyboard was not working. The only button on the top that worked was the power key. Today, I got a screwdriver and took the whole entire thing apart. Start by removing the battery, then take out the 6 back screws. Gently pull the back apart - this will be tough, do it evenly around all sides instead of getting just one side and yanking or you might break it. two of the screws on the top are accessible readily, but the two near the hinge are only accessible once the back is apart. Take the front apart with these 4 screws. dry it out with a q-tip. There should be four more screws inside - take those apart and dry clean. Pull the face off and dry the large white plate that receives all the button action. I put it all back together and my buttons worked again. I didn't even feel like I did anything to fix it because it wasn't really wet inside, i think there was just a micro-dot of moisture on that white plate. I hope it works for you. I was so excited about mine that I got on here to tell others. But hey - I also prayed about it and God cares even about the little things!!!!! Now - I've got the battery out and am leaving it out for a couple of days just to make sure that its totally drive because any water in there could still damage the phone if there is a power source. GOOD LUCK!

Hi. I own a Nokia 6300 and recently the keypad just stopped working. Its not all they keys, only 1, 2, 3 and the selection button. I've tried removing the keypad and seeing if it works then, but it dosent....

the problem is probably with the actual keys and not the battery. If the battery was the problem then it would effect the whole phone not just four buttons. Try opening it up and cleaning the buttons with an old brush and leaving it for a while. If that doesnt work then your nest course of action is to take it in to your local shop who will definitly be able to fix it.

My E815 'end call' key wont work. cant turn my phone back on.

the phone uses a complete keypad for all the buttons you may need to replace tne whole keypad flex assembly. if you can take apart the phone you can purchase the flex on ebay. if not contact your local cell phone tech or you con contact for a repair estimate.

Nav key stopped working

I had the same problem until today. This is what I did:
I opened up the handset and took most of it apart:
There are 2 screws in the battery compartment and you have to push something in on the sides to pull it apart. It won't come completely apart because there are wires connecting to the speaker. There are 5 screws on the inside that hold the board to the phone. I unscrewed those. The buttons are all on 1 rubber sheet. The problem is that the 4 metal connectors under the 4 way button (not on the board, the ones on the back of the rubber) have somehow deteriorated. To fix it I glued a very small piece of tin foil (I used a really thin brand) to each of the 4 connectors. They have to be done separately and the foil can't be too thick or the foil will be touching the board without a button press (found this out the hard way). Test it before tightening the screws to make sure everything worked and then put it back together.
Note: You may need to ground yourself so static electricity doesn't fry the board. If it breaks the phone, don't blame me :) I went this route because it was either play around to find a solution or buy a new phone. I don't know how long this will work for, but I hit all the buttons a bunch of times and they all work.

Keypad stops working on handsets

After you remove the battery and the two obvious underlying screws, you will need to pop the two halves apart. This takes some force and you may break some internal plastic clips, but you have no choice. There are approximately six internal plastic clips, so don't worry about breaking one or two. The screws hold it together securely anyhow. Then there are 5 more little screws to get the back PCB off. Then use nail polish cleaner and q-tips and clean the contacts on both the rubber pad and the PCB.

The keypad will work like new again - magic.

Treo 650 keyboard stuck

Sure. This involves taking the phone apart. Fortunately, it isn't difficult. Go to ", and find the BUZZ FIX. It will give you instructions with photos of how to open your 600 and perform the BUZZ FIX. Do that while you have the phone open. You will disconnect the battery in that process. Carefully lift the board that the battery is mounted on and this will expose the KEYPAD. Remove it, clean the keypad, and the pressure contacts below it -- carefully with a Q-tip and a little water and perhaps a little alcohol. Put the keypad back in place. Put the board back in place. Reconnect the battery after performing the BUZZ FIX (you may as well do it while you have the unit apart because you will have the buzz sooner or later). Put the case back together. Tighten the screws. Turn the unit on and make a call. If it doesn't work then you are in trouble.
