Hello, my bestec 250w smps is not working.can any one help me repair the faulty one .I am a qualified engineer.

It is unlikely you can repair your power supply for less than a new one unless the problem is simply an internal fuse. Check Amazon, or eBay for possible replacements: eg.

Where is the fuse located ? Was hit by lightning

The fuse is located int he front end of the power supply which is a SMPS- switch mode power supply unit. Now trace the power cord and you will arrive at it from the mains switch.
If the fuse is blown you must be careful and specially if the new fuse blows then it is confirmed you have more damage in the circuit.... In most cases it can be too severe depending on the strike level.
Please check this link for tips on SMPS.

When I try to charge the battery in my Cardioline delta 1 Plus machine, it says "supply failure" and it also will not run on outlet power.

You have to check the power supply of you machine. Normally it will be a SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply). If the SMPS is faulty then the machine will not work on outlet power and also will not charge the battery. That's why it displays supply failure. Check the SMPS if available then replace the same. For repairing the same can only done by an experience person in electronics. Because there are high voltage areas in the SMPS. So if you need to repair the same consult some one who is experienced in it.

Ive had this bluray player for 2 years and it was working fine, then one day i tried to turn it on and nothing happened. i checked if the fuse was blown but i appears to be fine. so there is no power...

there is possibility of two complaints.
1, The SMPS power supply fault
2. the mother board fault.
if the SMPS is faulty the you can rectify the problem. If it is with the mother board the you have to contact the manufacturer .
First of all you have to check the SMPS ( switch mode power supply). you have to check the voltages at it secondary stage. 5v, 12v, etc
switched-mode power supply (switching-mode power supply, SMPS, or simply switcher) is an electronic power supply that incorporates a switching regulator in order to be highly efficient in the conversion of electrical power. Like other types of power supplies, an SMPS transfers power from a source like the electrical power grid to a load (e.g., a personal computer) while converting voltage and current characteristics. An SMPS is usually employed to efficiently provide a regulated output voltage, typically at a level different from the input voltage
for checkin the SMPS voltaes you need a multimeter. And check the voltages at it secondary stage
Added the inside view of BD 1600

if there is no outputs from the smps then you have to replace the SMPS drive STR ic near the big capacitor. Also ty to replace the OPTO coupler ic. y have to check the all resistors near the ic.

Remember one important thing that the capacitor can hold charge for some time even if you disconnect the power. so after removing the power. remove the SMPS very carefully. discharged the capacitor using a bulb.
i have also added a video for SMPS working for you reference will hep you for repairing your one

Monitor comes on for 1 second and then goes black (no Picture) presume it is a broken trace on the main board. This is the 2nd monitor that has the same issue. 2 sepetate brands Dell and Viewsonic.

bburgert, Hi, 12fixlouie here. Possible problem with "switch-mode-power-supply" or the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" power supply that is called the "inverter circuit" which lights-up the CCFL lamps. use warranty service if possible. Yes, it could be a broken trace, but more likely a "cold" solder joint or possible bad (failed) capacitors on SMPS board. You or electronics technician will need to visually inspect SMPS/inverter for top 2 causes of BLACK or BLACK and BLANK LCD monitor failures. Read more of my responses in my fixya profile and see if they will help you make decision on what to do. A trip to YOUTUBE will also help if you need to see what is inside a typical CCFL backlit LCD monitor!!! Also try that is run by another fixya tech nickname of buddymc. Lots of good info already on web about YOUR monitor symptom. Some are repaired quite easily by owners who are handy with soldering pencil and solder and some basic hand tools of electronic nature. Good luck on the repair. If this was of some use, then rate it on fixya. Bye for now.

Do not start

First remove smps power suply unit box from cpu.
Then ground pin and check is it on you have to ground 4-5 pin blck and green.
Then if it is on then smps is ok.then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes make sure cmos cell give voltage.Remove pci cards from pci slot is any.
connect ATX power supply to motherbord then check.
But if smps is not turn on then it has some issue.
Change fuse of smps if still not on then you have repair it or change.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
