Need bearing assembly for westwood mower deck drawing

Motor is drawing excessive current. Make sure that there is no debris or garbage binding the mechanism. Disconnect motor from blade assembly - the latter should turn nice and freely.

Connect ammeter and see what the draw is. Compare to specs under load for correlation.

Yes. The deck is the metal housing that holds the blades, spindles eyc. The entire unit is a deck assembly.

On most you cant. Some are pressed in so on those you need a press to get them out. Usually the spindle assembly is not that much more than just the spindle...and since it's assembled you don't need to worry about bearings and grease either.

Are you still looking for that belt diagram..? Is this for the motor to trans (which is pretty simple) or the belt for the deck..? Couldn't find a diagram so hope my drawing comes out right.. This is for the "deck belt" routing..!!!

Main thing is, you take the belt from BETWEEN the right & left pulleys, pull it down and around the tension pulley..

Are your blades upside down? Mower deck level?Proper air pressure all 4 tires?Correct blades for the diameter of cut? Deck bent? Deck hangers bent?

I assume you are referring to the deck bearings. The easiest way to replace the blade drive bearings is to remove the deck from the mower. You can then easily remove the blades, clean the deck and be able to easily get to the bolts holding the bearings and pulleys in place. This is normally a straightforward repair and can be accomplished with common hand tools. You will need to purchase the parts from the dealer who sells the mower. Replace all 3 set of bearings. On a 3 year old mower ask yourself why the bearings failed. Are you washing under the deck when the bearings housings are hot? That will cause premature failure. Are you greasing the bearings regularly?

Put the blade back on the star on the shaft and tighten it down. Now you have some backup for the pulley nut. You may have to wedge a 2x4 between the blade and deck. THe EASIEST way is get an impact and zip it off. :-)
