Re: Samsung LE26R51BD HDMI PROBLEM
Sounds to me like you need to change your input feed oin the settings menu of you TV to HDMI. If it doesn't work then you can either return the DVD player because using an HD DVD with a non HD capable TV is pointless, or you can upgrade to an HD TV.

Multi-AV SCART adaptors with Input/Output signal switch (gold & nickel). A common misconception among game console owners is such connectors will allow RGB quality, while they are only CVBS and S-Videocompliant.
THESE CAN BE USED FOR NON HD DEVICES SUCH AS YOUR DVD-VCR, AND SKYTOP BOX
YOUR TV WILL HAVE AT LEAST 1 OF THE YELLOW WHITE RED COMPOSITE CONNECTION
almost all Dvd players are connected to a television by either a scart or a HDMI lead.
When you plug the scart into the back of your television (make sure its in properly) then turn the power on. on your dvd player.
This should automatically come on as scart leads send a voltage up the scart telling the tv to change to that source/av.
If it is connected via a HDMI cable then if you look at the back of your telly it will tell you what HDMI input number it is. then all you have to do is press the AV/ SOURCE button on your remote to select that number.
I am a sky engineer (not a subby)
the reason this does not come on straight away is because a Scart lead send power upto your telly when it is turned on. Telling the telly that this is what you want.
Unfortunately HDMI does not send power upto the telly. There are ways around this. ON Samsung, Panasonic and Lg tellys you can go into a secret menu and apply something called HOTEL MODE this allows you to change the av input so it would automatically come on your hdmi 1,2,3, etc
In your case follow my instructions below
go to the hdmi you are using for your Hd
on the sky remote
Press SELECT and GREEN until LED flashes twice.
Press HELP then SELECT and the LED will flash Twice. what this mean is when you press your Sky button, tv guide, services or interactive button to turn the sky on this will automatically change your av/source on your telly to the sky HD for you
hello.on that samsung you probably have more than one hdmi conection so conect your dvd/vcr with hdmi cable to tv and sky box with hdmi to if its have hdmi or with scart if not.if you still have problems with conection, make some photos of tv,dvd/vcr and sky box all back panel and send to me (email@example.com) and i send you the best solution i can.
Well your PS3 Can't connect with your TV to the Samsung, because PS3 Was made HD Blu-Ray. If your TV/Samsung is not supported by High Def. or Blu-Ray, it will not work, you will need a different HDMI Cable, and it should work fine.
Hope this Helped.
i have a targa 5500x from lidl cant copy from hard drive to dvd as i have done this many times but the dvd drawer keeps opening telling me to put in blank dvd and i keep doing this but getting no where,
Had same problem with my HDMI connection on my sony bravia and sony theatre system, resolved by conecting a scart lead from the theatre system to one of the free scart sockets on the back of the TV, leave your HDMI connection in place as the DVD signal comes from this,
