How do you have the connection hooked up?

I have this router and this is my connection.

Computer #1
Wired -- in other words Modem--Router--Computer

My others are wireless.

If your hookup is the same when you run the disk you are given the option to hook up more computers wirelessly.

Choose that option

Then choose, flash drive

It will load the software onto the flashdrive and then you put the flashdrive in the other computers and click the folder (Vista, should pop up when flash drive is inserted) run the software and your computers should connect with no problem. I have 3 with internal wireless cards, 1 is WiFi and I had no problem, 2 others have external cards and I just put the codes the router gave me in my initial hookup and they connected no problem.

Any other concerns, contact me

Netgear wpn824 v2 loses connection The internet light blinks amber every few minutes and I lose connection to the internet.

if you're online and loses connection every couple of minutes, that most likely be and issue with you ISP. it's intermittent connection issue with the server or might be the modem if it's more than a year.. better is to contact your ISP to check on their end, also to create a work order to investigate and monitor the issue.

How do I set this router up with AT&T Internet?

Hi Friend,

Make sure that you have connected all the wires/cables to their respective ports/places. Please follow the steps:

1.Open web browser and type 192.168.1.1 and hit enter.
2.Enter admin as username and password.
3.Select the proper region.

For cable modem:

* For most cable modem users, you should be able to connect to the Internet without any

configuration. If your ISP has provided you with a host name, enter it in the optional Host

Name field.

* If your ISP requires a registered MAC Address, click on the Clone MAC Address button.

Click Apply and OK to save the setting.

* Go to Status tab, Internet connection section to verify if you get the valid IP address

information.

For DSL:

* Select PPPoE from the drop-down menu.

* Enter your username and password provided by your ISP.

Click Apply and OK to save the setting. Go to Status tab, Internet connection section to verify if you get the valid IP address information.

4.Click Wirless (to configure wireless settings).

SSID: Any name as per your choice.

Operating Mode: Infrastructure

Authentication: Open System

Channel #: 6

WEP: Enabled and type any ten digit number as your password. You can use this password whenever you try to connect your wireless devices.

I hope this will resolve the issue.

Can not connect to the internet

check your firewall setting.
check if your connection is working or not, by connecting to other pc if possible.
check if dns etc config for your internet is ok, for this you must call you ISP and check if there are no issues with you connection.
showing connecting cant mean actually connected, it wont work unless confuguration setting are good.

I do not have one of these devices however from the specs it is a combination DSL modem / Router that supports both wired connections to 4 ethernet ports as well as wireless connections. This device has configuration options that apply to the ISP side as well as the wireless side that could be causing issues. Lets try eliminating the wireless issues first. Do you have a computer with an ethernet port for a wired connection. If so attempt to connect to the internet using a wire to the ports on the wireless router. If this works we are assured the ISP connections and configuration are correct. If not I would suggest working with your ISP to get this working first. If this does work the next step will be to review the wireless configuration. If you got this new or from your ISP these settings may be known. However if you bought this used we may have some discovery to make this work. However we can address that after we determine the solution to the above issues.
