Why does my break switch wire keep burning?

If the brake switch wire is melting, there is an issue with the size of fuse supplying it.
Check there is no short circuit on the rear clusters.

2001 Chevy Malibu's bright beams work, but low beams do not. Which fuses should I be looking at specifically?

Have you tried changing bulbs? Usually one low beam burns out and you really don't notice so when the second one burns out it looks like a serious problem. There is no fuse for the headlights if it's not the bulb the next thing to check is the dimmer switch. I hope this helps. Take care.

Car will not go into gear and brake lights are not working, have to override the gearshift by inserting my key in the small pop off tab , but still do not have brake lights, replaced the Brake switch and...

Fuse 42 should be 15 amps-not 10. If 15 amp fuse still burns, Brake light circuit is drawing too much current, causing the fuse to burn. The problem may be the shift lock solenoid or the lights. See diagram at link below.

Fuel pump quit working,I replaced fuel pump relay,nothing...cant find location of "ECM BAT" fuse, and the fuel pump relay connector. My chilton manual does'nt show

Have you checked the fuse box under the driverside dash? If memory serves it should be a 15 to 25 amp fuse. I would suggest you check all of the fuses with a fuse tester. And take a close look at all the grounds.

Washing machine fuse blows every couple of washes

the machine is pulling to much power.check to see if it is on a 15 or 20 amp outlet. you said you replaced the fuse. the amp size should be on it. if it is a 15 amp fuse, plug the machine into a 20 amp circuit and see if the fuse blows then. it shouldn't since it wasn't blowing everytime on the 15 amp circuit, but never put a 20 amp fuse in a 15 amp socket! the fuse can handle the load[ no pun intended], but the electrical wire would burn not blowing the fuse, thus causing a fire.
hope this helps.
