No lights means either no AC power or a dead router.
If you have a multi-meter, you can test the voltage and amperage being emitted by the power-adapter brick.

Otherwise, it's better to spend $50 to buy a replacement, than it is to spend $50 on the time of a computer technician's "trouble-shooting" efforts.

Netgear wndr3300 blinking orange light

It depends. Have you checked the Netgear support site for FAQ and the manual. In some routers, orange lights indicate wired 100Mbps connections while green indicates 1000Mbps. In other cases, blinking lights indicated that the router is 'bricked'.

Unfortunatly, if it won't even power up anymore, there no way to even diagnose what the problem might have been. sorry to say, but i think it may be time for a new router.

My netgear rangemax does not emit a steady wifi signal. if i plug in my computer, the internet is working fine. all of the lights are on on the router. The wifi network shows up for a few minutes, goes...

Intermittent wireless connection can be caused by different factors, such as:

1. Wireless interference within the network. For best results, place your router:
- near the center of the area in which your computers will operate.
- in an elevated location such as a high shelf where the wirelessly connected computers have line-of-sight access (even if through walls).
- away from sources of interference, such as microwaves, and 2.4 GHz cordless phones.
- away from large metal surfaces.

2. Wireless settings on the router are still set to default. This may cause conflict with other Netgear routers within your network range.
- change the router's SSID or wireless network name.
- change the router's channel.
- enable wireless security on the router.

3. If the wireless connection is still unstable after performing the steps above, it is possible that the firmware is corrupted. Upgrade the router's firmware.

Netgear wirelss modem tick not lighting

Hi,

Please note that the tick light turns on only when the router is doing a self test. If it is on then that means the router is either faulty or doing a self test. If the router is working fine then the tick light should be off.

Netgear wireless router reset

Double-click on the LAN icon on the bottom right by your clock and go to the IP that is shown for your default gateway. That will take you to your router, than just manually reset everything.

Lights not coming on netgear router

when the lights on a router fail to work, this means that the router has gone bad. In some cases like yours, the router went bad. You have to concider that the router is always transmitting a wireless signal 24 hours a day. My option to you is to get a new router that is better and longer lasting. I have a linksys WRT300N and it is the best on I have ever used. (I also used netgear and belkin)
