The display on the washing machine says hf, which means insufficient water intake. I have cleaned the piece that intakes water, but it is still clogged. It is only the cold water intake that is clogged. Do I have to buy a new piece for the washer or is there a way of unclogging it?

Water not getting into machine . Check your hoses and screens to make sure they are clean. If you hear a hum but no water enters machine then they are plugged or shut off . If no hum then the fill valve may be bad.
FH or HF error is displayed when the control detects no water entering the machine. To clear this error press and hold the PAUSE/CANCEL button twice. You can then check if the water inlet valve is fine and not clogged with foreign particles, try to clean it. If the water inlet valve appears to be fine then check if the pressure switch hose is properly connected to the pressure switch & tub. Please get back to me if you have any questions.
It means you have an insufficient water supply problem. My Maytag is doing the same thing. I'm currently only using cold water to wash clothes and I have the valve for my hot water supply closed because it's leaking. So...if my washer is set to use anything but cold water it will stop mid-cycle and display the same thing because when it tries to "pull" hot/warm water it's not getting any. Make sure your valves are opened up completely, and if they are make sure water is actually coming out of both of them. You may have to disconnect them from the washer to check. Hope this helps!!

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. You are right, FH error
indicates an issue with the water supply; this error occurs when after 30
seconds the control does not detect the water entering the machine and the
valves turn off & error code is displayed. Check the cold water inlet valve
for any clogs and try to clean it, also clean the screens in the inlet valve. If
still it’s not resolved then the only option is to replace the valve. Please do
rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
assistance. Thanks Rylee
My Manual says (HF) = Water Inlet Problem- Insufficient Water Supply
Select Pause/Cancel twice to cancel cycle - Unplug Washer to disconnect Power-
Check the following:
Water faucets completely turned on
Screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Water inlet hoses kinked?
Plug in the washer- re-select cycle and press hold to start-
same error- call for service..
I think that means NO, Hot water Flow (HF)
Try this Hold the "Start" button IN while you Switch ON.
Also check this out pull the water lines filters to check the screens, and the cold water line for crud in it
hf is: hot water fault meaning that the hot water could not enter the machine through the water valve or, the computer did not "see" the water entering. as it expected ( are both of your faucets fully on?) manually unlock the door using the emergency door release then check the water valve assembly (where you attach the hot and, cold hoses) for problems.
next; push and, hold the on button while someone plugs in the machine to reset the computer and, restore your display
