KX-TG6052 two handsets. Can't get Talking-Caller ID to turn off!

Can't get Talking-Caller ID to turn off?

I don't know if the caller ID is stuck on or not. It is prgrammed to be off. We don't have caller ID service. The base unit has alot of static (clicking and popping) coming thru the speaker whether or not the hand set is in use.

HOW DO I GET THE "RINGER" BACK ON TO THE HAND SET?
IT JUST TURNED OFF BY ITSELF AND IT SAYS ON THE LCD THAT RINGER IS OFF.
