Question about Gateway 507GR PC Desktop

1 Answer

San Disk Memory Stick Pro Duo 2.0 GB

I guess that would help, Sorry.. I have a Sony Cybershot digital camera DSC-W80 and I tried to download pictures using the cable that came with the camera using th USB port on front of my Gateway 505 GR computer, all I could get was can not find the file or path, so I bought a 5-in-1 card reader from best buy couldn't get it to work either, so when I took the card reader back the employee said something about a default blocking something couldn't figure that out either. all I want to do is download my pictures from memory stick to my computer. Can I do a memory upgrade on Sony VGC -LS 37E?

the specs for your computer, it states that it is equipped with 2gb of memory 2x1gb and max at 2gb, so I doubt that any higher memory upgrade installed would work, or else it would cause your system to crash or even damage it.

What are the slots on the front panel used for?

Those are card reader slots.

Various types of memory cards can be used.

A memory card, (Or can be stated as Flash Memory Card), takes the place of the old Floppy Disks, for one.

It is digital. There is no disk inside, just hardware electronic components.

Due to the size of trying to explain every type of memory card that is available, and the memory card itself, I would like to give you this link,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_card

Here it explains the basic format of a memory card.
You can click on the titles of the memory card/s, (in blue), to get a deeper explanation, of that particular memory card.

The specifications for your eMachines ET1810 Desktop PC, state that you have the following card reader slots for,

1.Compact Flash (Type I and II)
2.CF Microdrive
3.MultiMedia Card (MMC)
4.MMCmobile
5.MMCmicro
6.Reduced-Size MultiMedia Card (RS-MMC)
7.Secure Digital Card (SD)
8.miniSD Card
9.xD-Picture Card
10.Memory Stick
11.Memory Stick PRO
12.Memory Stick PRO Duo
13.Memory Stick Micro (M2)

Look above each slot for an abbreviation.
For example on my computer,

I have one card reader slot that is approximately 1 inch wide.
It looks like a T that is stretched out.
It has SD/MMC/SM/MS/MS-PRO, above it.

This means that the card reader slot will support, (Use),
[In order as printed above],

1.SD Card - Secure Digital Card
2.MultiMedia Card.
3.Smart Media card
4.Memory Stick
5.Memory Stick Pro

I have one more card reader slot. It has CF-Microdrive above it. A wider slot than the above, and looks like a upside down stretched out T.

This means of course that it uses, (Supports), a Compact Flash Microdrive card

I've tried to explain the various card reader slots, on your computer's front panel, without being too technical, or being offensive in nature.

If you want, I can explain as technical as you wish, or simplify my solution more.

This is the Specifications page for your eMachines ET1810,

http://support.gateway.com/emachines/desktop/2009/emachines/et/et1810/ET1810sp2.shtml

Scroll down, and look to the right of the heading - Card Reader.
These are the cards your computer supports, (Uses)

Looking at the main support page for your eMachines, it looks as though you have four card reader slots.
Three grouped together on the left side, and two in the middle.

The two slots to the far right are USB ports, with probably a headphone jack port, and a microphone port to the right of them.

This page gives a little more detail, as to what your card reader slots support,

Vista will not recognize sandisk memory stick pro duo 2.0 GB

Try the memory stick on another computer. If it still doesnt work, clean the contacts on your memory stick. Re-insert it. If it still doesnt work, use another working memory stick and insert it to the reader, if it recognizes it chances are your memory stick is either fried or destroyed. You'll need to by one.

hope this helps!

Problems loading image files onto memory stick pro duo

You probably emptied the memory stick in the download, if the OS sees the memory stick as a removable device then a simple drag and drop will put a copy of the files back on the stick. If MS not see by OS then you cannot get them back on. Trick is that the operating system must see the memory stick as a device to exchange data. Some programs allow retrevial but do not make provision for storing.

I can't load photos from my Sony Cyber-shot camera into my HP Pavilion a6110 computer using any of the slots or on front using the MS/PRP/Duo/PRO Duo

How are you connecting the camera to the PC? If you have Windows XP of Vista, You just need an USB cable, connect the camera and the computer will detect a new hardware and recommend which software you can use to open the pictures.

Ejecting Memory Stick Pro Duo card out of notebook card reader

Hi, the memory Stick Pro Duo card is (micro), half size as you have noticed you need to buy an SD adapter card. You put your Pro Duo card into the SD card & than put it into your card reader.
Once you see the SD adapter card on the web site you'll understand. You can buy this at a local BestBuy. Most web sites sell the adapter as a combo, you'll get a micro card & adapter.
Click the link below.
http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=Stick+Pro+Duo+adapter+only&um=1&ie=UTF-8
Look at SanDisk 2GB Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo w/Adapter
& you will understand.

Have more questions? Just ask.
Good Luck & Have a Great Day!
