Try right clicking on E drive - select Properties - Click the Tools Tab - Under ERROR CHECKING click Check Now - Make sure Automatically Fix File System Errors is checked. Click start. If the computer hangs again most likely your devices disk has failed. Hope you have backups of all your data. This is usually only a temporary fix and you will need to reformat the mp3 player and add back all of your files.

Hmmmm....Can you reset the mp3 device to it's factory settings? If so reconnect it and see if it hangs the system again.

How to reset mp3 player

Remove the battery and leaving it like that for a couple hours till it completely dies. Your music will not be affected and it might work. It could be that a file is corrupted inside the mp3 for that go to the place you bought it from or on the internet look on google see what it says.

I have a SanDisk M230 (512 MB) MP3 player. I have never had a problem copying MP3 files to it using Windows Explorer. Never! I've just tried to copy some more files (plenty of available space) and...

When the memory circuit starts to fail it goes into lock mode: it only allows you to copy the files already in, no writing since they will be corrupted anyway and in the process damage the ones already in.
That is an age related defect - the memory chip inside your player has a limited number or write operations available and the chip has reached this number : basically the memory chip is dying of old age.
There is nothing you can do about that, time for a new player.

I put music on the sd card and once i put it back in my phone the sd card says"Media card can not be accessed due to fatal errors." What does that mean and how can that be changed?

The file system is corrupted - most likely when you have put the music in you have done that incorrectly and the file system got corrupted in the process.
Format the card to FAT32, put it in the phone, start the phone with it in, take out the card, put it in the pc see if a music file has been created and put the mp3 music files in it, safely disconnect it and test it. If it's the same then the card has died, replace it.

The Music and Videos and pic das not work well on my MicroSD 1GB on my phone but some work and same sayes Unsupported file and it is mp3 Music.

I'm sorry to say, but it sounds like the MP3 files in question aren't supported by your phone, and not the Memory card. They may be corrupt files, or an unsupported version of the file.

Corrupt files can be checked by attempting to open them on another device or on your PC.

I wish it were easier to explain, but with MP3 files there are different Bit Rates - these are the speeds of how much music is there. The higher the bit rate the better the quality of the music. Some devices aren't compatible with really high bit rates. The lower the bit rate, the smaller the file size, but you lose quality with such files.
If you can play these files on your PC, I would check to see what the bit rate is on them. You may be able to see this by right clicking on the file and see the properties. You may have to view this from within your audio player - Windows Media Player or iTunes.
Compare this to a file that you know plays on your phone. See the difference? I believe this file will be at a lower bit rate.
I'm not sure how you would convert them to a lower rate. But if you've "ripped" them from a CD, then re-rip them and select a lower rate.

Also some phones or Music players (MP3 players) can only play MP3 files. It may be possible the file is an WMA file instead. This is another format altogether, and your computer may be able to play it, but your device might not.
There's a give and take with MP3 files as you can see.

I hope this is helpful.

I'm using a 1gb sandisk sd memory card to sync mp3 song on it. THe mp3 songs go on it fine and play on the computer and on the mp3 player ok. The problem is I have about 533mb of space used and have about...

You may have reached the maximum number of files allowed in the root directory of the file system. If you already have a folder on the card, try moving some of the MP3 files into that folder. If you can copy 1 new MP3 file onto the card, that is your problem. Hopefully your MP3 player supports folders!

What program do i use for moving music from my computer to my mp3 player?

Hi..

Moving music from your computer to your mp3 is a simple way. You do not require a program to move. All things you should do is to plug your mp3 player to your computer. Once your mp3 player is recognized or detected, you just copy your music from your computer and paste it in the folder of your mp3 player.

After you are done copying close all the open folders in your computer.

Note: Do not remove your mp3 player directly it will cause a file corrupted. You need to safety remove.

Flash drive write protected? can't add files

This seems to be the problem of most of us these days and some of our readers who wanted to know the methods how they can remove the Write Protected error from their USB drives like Pen Drives and memory cards.

What is Write Protected error and why it happens?
In the Write Protected error, we can’t write or copy any data in our flash drives and even can’t format the drive.
There are many reasons that cause this problem, let’s see solutions of them.
Solutions:
• First of all try to locate a small switch (if any, that you may have not noticed) at some place on the drive or memory card reader. This is the prime reason for this error. If there is one, switch it to the other side to turn the protection off.
• Yes I know this problem is also occurring these days without this switch but not to worry. Just download this helpful software form here

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HDD-Low-Level-Format-Tool.shtml

and run it to execute a “low-level format” on the drive. This software is quite handy and may take few attempts to actually remove the error.
• The problem can also be caused by some virus activity so just get it scanned by some updated good anti virus which may solve your problem.
• BUT if none of the methods listed above solves your problem then your pen drive might have gone corrupted, so just get it replaced.
Hope any of the methods listed above solves your problem.
Update 1:
After the low level format, you may need to “Partition the drive“. Dont worry, partitioning a pen drive means allocating it its File System and Cluster Size that was lost after the Low Level Format.
For that:
  1. Run diskmgmt.msc in Run.
  2. In the disk management window, select the pen drive, right click on it and click on Format.
  3. Now choose the File System and Allocation Unit Size and do not check the boxes below.

Click OK and the drive will be reusable after this.
Update 2 (Better Solution):
Follow the steps in this post and just put the value 0 (zero) in step 5.
This will surely solve your problem now.
