Question about Scytek 2000RS-M Remote Control

1 Answer

Remote start Can you tell me where to locate the white wire in the ignition harness? I find a bundle of wires going from the steering column to the fuse block with a large and a small white wire. Another bundle that goes down under the dash from the column does not have a white wire. Am I looking at the right bundle?? Thanks for the help, Roger

Can not install it properly

This is not a remote control problem; it is an equipment problem. The three "wires" you refer to are right audio (red), left audio (white), and video (yellow). If you can reply by telling me what you are trying to connect to what, maybe I can help

I have a 94 grand prix with a dei remote start not sure what brand remote says your valet and the fcc id is ezsdei471 and it has 2 grey buttons on it anyway the remote unlocks the doors and the dummy...

It sounds like there's no power going to the starter wire. Try and locate the brain under the dash for the remote start. It should be black and about twice the size of a deck of cards with a few harnesses hanging out of it. Usually it is zip-tied to a wire harness or bracket to keep it secure and from falling down onto your feet. There should be several wires much larger than the others, and you should see fuseholders on the 2 red ones. Usually one of the fuses is used solely for the starter. Check both fuses on these larger wires. Should be 30 amp green ones if I remember right. Also, while you have the brain accessible, write down the model number on the brain itself to help you in the future. Most DEI remotes can be used for almost any DEI/Viper/Your Valet system, so it's really hard to tell what you have just by looking at the remote. If the fuses are fine, you may need to take it to a shop (anyone that sells Viper and such). If you have a chip in your ignition key, it may also be the security bypass module that gets installed with the remote start. You will only have this bypass module if you have the little chip in your ignition key. Hope this helps, good luck.

Wiring instructions are terrible. Ceiling wires = Red, Black, White, Copper. Fan wires = Black, White, Copper. Remote wires = Neutral in(Black), Live In(Black), Light out(White), Fan out(White),...

That is dificult to follow .. here is the usual wiring plan for ceiling fans .. green to green or bare and mounting bracket ... ceiling black and red are live from the switches, fan and light.with a remote you really only need one of these , so cap off the red and use the black as your input to the remote .. the neutral to the remote should be the white .. there are only 3 wires from the fan so I am assuming that there is no light , or the light will be activated from the remote .. the black for the fan and the black for the lights connect to marked wires on the remote. .. lights out, fan out

or looking at your description .. ((Remote wires = Neutral in(Black) white ceiling wire, Live In(Black) blaxck ceiling wire, Light out(White) blue Fan/Light wire, Fan out(White) black fan/light wire, Common(White) white ceiling and white fan/light wires.

Hunter ceiling fan

The usual house wiring for a ceiling fan with two wall switches , is white to white, black to black, and red to the other wire, usually blue or black striped with blue. If this fan has a remote , then it usually only requires one power wire, black and the white neutral.

if this vehicle has a white wire in the ignition harness it needs powered by the ignition out of the remote start if your remote start doesnt have a second ignition use relay not poering this wire will ruin your transmission the white wire must have power this should solve your problem dont use remote start until you fix this problem or it will cost alot of money.

Wiring-

The ceiling has Black and white (dirty I expect) ,
black is hot , white is neutral
the green is ground ( the fan will ground through the mounting screws)
so connect the black to black (hot)
as you have only one choice left that is the blue/white to white.

I assume you have a strong bracket and a fan was existing previously in this spot. If not you have to install a new fan support and wiring box.
