May be your touch pad had been disable. If the case with you, then you can enable this and after that it will work.

To make your touch pad enabled just follow the steps as bellow:

1). click on Start -> Control Panel
it will open the control panel screen
(click on classic view on left pan of the window)

2) double click on mouse icon in the control panel window
it will open 'Mouse Properties' window click on Device Settings tab on the top of this window.
3) there will be Enable button, just click on it, it will enable your touch pad.

After enabling your touch pad will work....... enjoy :)

Thanks
Iqbal

How do I disabled the touch pad and only use an external mouse and the keyboard on the lap top?

You do not have to actually disable the touch pad on this laptop to use an "external" mouse. Just plug in your mouse and it will install the drivers if needed and viola, your good to go. If you insist on disabling your touch pad however, you can do that by double tapping the top left hand corner, when you do this correctly, a little orange light will show and the screen will show a notification the the touch pad is disabled. To enable the pad back on, just repeat the same step you used to disable, and the on screen notification will indicate the touch pad is enabled!

Mouse frozen which keys to use instead my lap top works how I am able to write now. My Desk top computer mouse is frozen?

If you were using a physical mouse (instead of a track pad), then try a different mouse. If you were using the track pad, get a USB mouse and plug it in. If it works, then continue to use the USB mouse. If no type of mouse will work at all, it is a software issue. If rebooting doesn't fix the issue, you may have to reinstall windows. If you are using a mouse with a driver that was installed using a disk, try uninstalling that driver from the add/remove programs window (programs and features wind on vista and later).

How do i connect my wireless mouse to the lap top

the mouse requires a usb adapter, which works like a 2 way radio to send and recieve the movement, location, and button signals from the mouse. Just plug in the wireless mouse adapter into an open usb jack, most of them don't even need software, they configure themselves automatically.

yes you can, but your desktop will then be without a mouse. Plug out the usb receiver for the wireless mouse, and plug it into the laptop.
