Question about Samsung DLP HL-P4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The color wheel in my Samsung 56” DLP crashed a few months ago. Yesterday I finally got the replacement and installed it, following pictorial instructions I luckily found on the web. I was very careful and made sure all of the connections were replaced as I re-assembled the TV. On the first startup I got audio, but no picture, just a blinking lamp light on the front power button. After unplugging and re-starting, I get nothing at all except for the blinking lamp button; not even any sound from the fan, so nothing is starting up. The projection lamp was working fine when the color wheel died (it is about four or five years old though). Before I spend several hundred bucks on a replacement lamp, I want to know if there may be some linkage between the re-installation of that color wheel and the failure of the TV to startup. I can’t get to any kind of service menu because there’s no video at all. Any ideas about what might be going on? Thanks
Check the ribbon cable coming from the color wheel, if you plug it in backwards it will do this.
