Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I got a new computer also a HP. now I can not get the scanner to work.... HELP.....
HP site said Vista doesn't support these scan buttons. Must scan using Paint. What a pain. MS should be ashamed of themselves.

This is a very simple issue. We encounter this type of problems if the digital imaging monitor is not running on the taskbar. Usually we get no scan options error on the front panel of the all-in-one if we try to scan from the all-in-one. Once try to scan from the HP Director and check for the results. If the issue persists even from the HP Director once reload the software and then try to scan. If you are using Vista, we do not have full featured software, try to scan from paint application and then scan.

If you are running XP and IE 7.0 you will need the update from HP to resolve issues with HP Director.

I am too having this problem with Scan Button, and communicating error. I hope that HP will fix this problem in their next Device Driver update, or next product.
In the mean time, try to reset the printer by doing the following:
(It sometimes works for me, for a while then stop working again without any apparent reason):
- hold both # and * together
- unplug & then plug the power cord
Good luck, folks

Is your new computer loaded with Windows Vista? If so, then you probably need to go to the HP website and download the proper drivers for your Printer for Windows Vista. If this doesn't work, contact me back.

If you can get to the feed rollers, take a Scotch Brite cleaning pad(green, used to scrub dishes) and put rubber restorer on it and hold on tight and try to feed a sheet. The rollers will spin no the pad, both roughing up the surface and cleaning the rubber. Other wise throw it away and buy a new printer.

turn on/off, unplug, plug in, should reset configs. might have to do this a coupe of times
go to applications folder for your computer, dbl click printer icon for make of printer. check settings. print 'test document and clean cartridge heads', this should ensure proper printing formats.
hope this helps and good luck
