Welcome to Fixya.

Your player might be corrupted. A restoration would resolve this problem.
Download and run the Restore/Firmware upgrade utility from RCA website. Click the link below to download.

http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/PEARL_FWUtility_v2.0.exe

After downloading, double click the downloaded file. Follow the instructions as prompted.

Thank you for using Fixya.

It turns on, but does notstart up.

Hopefully, you mean where it says "Pearl". Assuming that this is the problem, this is what you have to do:

  1. Take out the battery
  2. Change the battery (making sure it isn't hanging up because of low battery). Try to turn it on.
  3. If #2 does not help, you will have to download the firmware update from http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/digital_audio/digital_audio_firmware/PEARL_066F_855C_0_1250_A.exe
  4. Take out the battery
  5. Press and hold "Play" while inserting the player into the USB port
  6. Release "Play", let the computer load drivers.
  7. By this time, the download should be completed, run the executable
KEEP IN MIND: You will have to reformat the player, hopefully you have backups of the contents of your MP3 player.

Sansa e260 says cannpt load image switch to recovery mode

download the update software and install then.. lock your sansa, hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer... Download the sansa update software

You may need to make sure you are connected to a 2.0 USB port if your computer is not IDing it, try a friends computer or a labtop... USB modes msc...
Start the update software if it doesn't start automatic goto /start /all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa hope this works.... Please rate...

Archos driver and content portal

I think that the driver update that you're talking about is the firmware update, it is free to get the update through the archos website. All of the songs from itunes can't be put onto the archos. If you want the content portal you must purchase the cinema plugin. (that's the way archos designed the product) Your archos must be set on window media player first, before you can put your songs onto it, go to menu, click system and choose window media player and you can transfer your songs. Call tech support at archos 18773008879. This should help.

Gmini hard disk reading problems

My Gmini XS202s did this twice both time cause the battery went flat while moving files across (I should always charge device while connecting to PC)

First time I reformatted device as FAT32 using fdisk (Windows formatting tool should do same)

Then downloaded latest AOS and copied to root directory. [get AOS from http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates.html?country=gb&lang=en]

second time I ran mkdosfs /media/disk (disk was mount point for gmini). This seemed to fix the device and I lost about 20 files. but better than reformat.

Songs still undeleted

I have the same problem, I tried to format my player but it tells me format failed. I tried the system update and the device restarts but I still see the songs. I have done this about 20 times in 2 days but still no good.

Frozen at start update

The secret to treating brain damage on the c150 is to definitely use the <http://www.sendspace.com/file/7ge9cr> download. This is a *.rar file and you need to also download the 7zip freeware program to extract the contents of the file to a folder. Read the *.txt message in the folder and follow the directions and you will be back in business. Your c150 will probably occasionally have a relapse so keep the folder on your computer. This works!
