When a lcd monitor has a black screen the inverter is usall bad. Some have a individual inverter and others have a combination Inverter power supply. Capacitors are usally the first thing to check as well as fuses. Usally labeled starting with a F.

Ok heres the deal i have 100 clients and they all had the same monitors VG930M one by one they are all going out one month it might be 3 monitors the other month it might be none but they are all the same...

This model and other Viewsonic monitors failed due to bad caps as you can see here:

You should get capacitor kits (do not get the caps from Radio Shack, they are not low ESR type):

Capacitors kit: he can make you a set of caps for you. He also has the video on how to replace bad caps.
Or just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

I hope you know how to solder and have all the needed tools.

How to degauss viewsonic vp201b lcd

You do not degauss LCD monitor, it does not use electron beams (affected by magnetic field, if the showdow mask is magnetized, it can mees up color display) for making pictures like LCD.

My display had moved about 0.5 inch towards right. How to centralise it. Samsung Syncmaster943swxLCD monitor.

Locate and press the "Auto" button - next to the "Power" button. The monitor will automatically self adjust to the analog signal (a standard 15 pin VGA cable).

If you are using DVI (Digital Video Interface cable), you'll have to right click on the desktop and change the resolution, scan frequency or other setting - depending on the OS (Operation System) such as WinXP, Win 7, Linux, Mac, etc.. Each OS has a different way of getting to those settings.

You can download a copy of your monitor owner's manual here. Please rate this reply - good luck!

Which power supply caps to replace?

redhorizon77, Electrolytic filter capacitors are relatively cheap. I would at least replace ALL filter caps that have the same capacitor manufacturer name that is printed on the heat-shrink "tube" label. Look for names like: "CAPXON" SAMXON" "JUN FU" "ELITE" Then tell us what you find installed on your SMPS board. Please pay attention to polarity when replacing them. The wire lead closest to the white stripe on label is the negative lead. Make sure to mark the board with fine point marker where the negative lead goes!! And take close-up photos (2 to 3 inches) of board and capacitors BEFORE removing them. Solder some half-inch leads onto the bad and suspected bad caps and ask the local tv/monitor tech to measure the capacitance value (UF) microfarad and report back the data here on fixya. Also tell us brand of filter caps you installed. 12fixlouie

Samsung 403T no power

1) Fuse is good?
2) You must have 5vdc stanby voltage the minute you plug the set into the wall, this is a must have before going further. Please look for that first, then report back what you find. Pictures and Sch will be a great help. See example of my pictures here:
