My drum, alarm and data lights are on. I send things to the printer and need to press button in order to print. Usually only one page prints out and the problem persists.

same problem: Alarm and Data lights are on, and my Brother HL 1440 would not print.

  • nbknight May 07, 2009

I have a Brother 1440 laser printer that has been a real work horse until I upgraded my IMAC to system to 10.5.6. Now, the printer works only when coaxed by turning power switch off/on, pushing the button on front panel repeatedly, or opening the front access and removing and reinserting the toner cartridge. It doesn't seem to matter what program I am printing from. The computer connects, sends the data, the printer starts to make all the right sounds, and then poof! One or two pages, or none, and back to square one! Help!

Take y'r drum and toner out of the printer.. now there should be two translutent white circular film on either side of your toner... what u have to do is take a small piece of paper and make a bead out of it and insert that small paper bead right in front of those film.. u can insert on both side or on just one...

if u don't find those circular film then open y'r HL printer toner loading tray and turn y'r printer ON.... u will see green or red light coming out of either side of y'r printer where toner sits.. thats the place u should look for those film on y'r toner....

it worked for me... hope it works for u too...

PEACE..

I took the toner cartridge out of the printer. Inside the printer on the left side of the printer wall there is a small red light. I covered this light with black paper.
Printer works again.

If the red alarm light is not blinking then that is a signal that you need to replace the toner. I just replaced mine and the printer is back to functioning normally.

There is likely a paper jam. Check for one under a flap at the back of the printer.

Check the paper tray settings and make sure they are alinged with they type of paper you are using. (Ex. Letter) These settings have to be perfect in the tray so the printer knows what paper is in there. Usually when this happens the printed is asking you if you want to use the tray anyway and by pressing the button you are saying yes so it prints. Try loanding the manual tray with letter paper and see if the same thing happens.

I have a AW60448W stopwatch that I can't get the alarms to turn off.

AW60448W Stopwatch

Okay, now you have an excellent Stopwatch but don't know how to set it up. Well, I had the same problem but a friend of mine wanted one also and after I bought it for him, he being an old guy, could not read the small print that came with the Stopwatch. I have gone to the trouble of typing it up and you can benefit from this.

Now I don't expect you will send me any donation/money but if the mood strikes you, I will accept no more than $3.00 cash.

How do I turn off the hourly chime on a Wal-Mart Athletic Works stopwatch?
The way to do it is push the "light" button, then the "set" button. If the hourly chime is active, the days indicators will all be highlighted, if it's disabled, they will be turned off too. Basically it's the same as turning the alarm on/off, but instead of using the "start/stop" button, you use the "set button".
