I have had a similar problem on the DDW1805W Danby Dishwasher. I found out that the switch attached to door handle has gone bad. What I did was it to attach a 25 amp car fuse to both electrical line. It is only a switch and should have a lot of power flowing though it. I then plugged my dishwasher in and it ran. This told me that the switch in the door handle is fault. I am still looking for the part.

When we push the guide button on our remote we get a note in the bottom corner saying not available. Is this something happening within the system or did we touch a button turning it off.

So you are still having Tv reception, but when you press the Tv guide button on your remote it can't get anything? I don't believe you pressed anything to turn it off, I've had TV's that have done that, and sometimes it can't get information about the programming. Has it always had the message "not available"? Or did when your first get it, it was available? Have you tried looking in the product handbook? It might have needed to be programmed before using.

I have a Maytag Quiet Series 100 dishwasher. There is an icon with a "3" in it just to the left of "heat dry." I just noticed this "3" light is on and the dishwasher won't start when I push the...

The "3" means hold for 3 seconds to child proof it. When it's on, none of the functions work. When you hold it again for 3 seconds, it turns off and your buttons will work again.
Good luck!

Hi, the 3 sec lock is on and won't turn off, we can't get the dishwasher to start....i tried holding cancel along with the lock but that doesn't seem to work...any thoughts

Ok, this below is worth a shot. Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method. http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdfs/486_5.pdf

The clean light won't stop flashing...

Some Whirlpools to reset the sequence, push Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry with the door open and then close the door and hit cancel. Push the buttons as fast as you can - within 4 seconds. Also you can try Normal then Heated Dry then Normal then Heated Dry within 5 seconds to reset. Try those and see if it resets.

You can also try turning off the breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes and turn back on as long as the breaker isn't supplying your refrigerator too as in some countries where several appliances can be tied to one breaker, but in the USA, the dishwasher usually has a single breaker for itself.

You can find a troubleshooting guide found inside the door panel in which the screws are taken off and the door slips off and the troubleshooting guide (or tech guide) will be found there and probably is found there with your model. For others with different Whirlpools models it is found by removing the kick plate panel at the bottom of the dishwasher and it is usually glued there. It will list troubleshooting solutions you can try for your dishwasher and diagnostic codes for your dishwasher.
The flashing light is probably an indication that something caused the cycle to not complete, whether the water isn't hot enough or a faulty motor or several things, but the troubleshooting tech guide will help address that.

Dishwasher won't start and control buttons don't do anything.

It would have helped if you provide the Dishwasher model.

HOwever, I am assuming you have the power connected and inlet water is turned on.

It is likely the child control button might be enabled. CHeck dishwasher manual to show how to disable child lock.

If this is not the problem, then assuming your dishwasher has this feature, try to hard reset the dishwasher to factory setting. This is usually done by pressing 2 buttons (depending on dishwasher) together for a specific time. Or in some cases the mains power is turned off and on within a specific time.

Please post a comment to indicate your observations and model no. Please do not rate this solution until I have got some more details of your dishwasher problem.

Miele Dishwasher G892SCU Plus Intake/Drain light keep flashing

Hello RD,
Every Miele dishwasher is designed to drain water in the first 30 seconds of any cycle. Does your intake/drain light come on at all? Miele technical services can troubleshoot the fault code if you do get an intake/drain light.
The most common issue I have seen is that the dishwasher drain line is clogged.
Solution - Try checking the airgap at the top of your sink, if nothing there then check the end of the drain line usually connected to the garbage disposal if you have one. I would reccomend disconnecting the end of the drain line and putting it into a bucket. Let the dishwasher run for 30 seconds and if it drains then its a problem with your garbage disposal. If not I would contact Miele technical support to troubleshoot the fault code

Good luck
