Question about Computers & Internet
I have just reinstalled a copy of XP - everything is working fine except the sound.
If i play media player it errors saying the there is no audio device avaliable.
When i look in device manager the audio controller bit has a horrible yellow marker next to it. It suggested to update the driver which it searches for and is unable to find.
Any suggestions how to get this working or will i need to get a new soundcard?
You need to find out wich soundcard is inside your computer. If it is a brand pc or a laptop just repost the problem with correct model (eg: dell optiplex 800, Ibm 600, etc.).
If not you need to open the cabinet and check which serial numbers are printed on your sound card, or on your motherboard if soundcard is integrated with motherboard.
post all numbers and you should get the right driver.
