Horizontal White Lines

My 1st thought would be clean heads also. If ink is tanks only not heads take ink out and try cleaning heads with liquid cleaner available @ Staples or similar stores. Another fix might be to use alignment utility for your printers software; however before you do any of this if ink is old or nearly empty replace ink.

My printer is leaving horizontal streaks across

When I had the same problem, I found out, that Epson did not like Generic Ink. As soon as I replaced it with Genuine Epson Ink, it was fine.

Make sure you do Maintenance, Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning. You might be clogged?

Good Luck.

How to elliminate streaks while printing

hi shubhada,

It seems to me that your print driver has become corrupt. You will need to reinstall it to restore it to it's previous functional state.
Since you need to reinstall the driver, I suggest;

  1. downloading the latest driver for the HP 840c at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=59868&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=0&submit.x=0&lang=en&cc=us (you'll have to select your operating system then download the HP Deskjet Full Feature software/driver file)
  2. Uninstall your printer by deleting it in Printer and Faxes
  3. Reinstall your printer using the new driver
Hope this information helps you in solving the printer problem
Kind regards and thanks for using the FixYa service

MP700 Magenta horizontal stripes

I have the same problem. Here's the advice I found somewhere on the internet:

If a jet (nozzle) in your cartridge has gone bad you will see horizontal bands and/or white streaks in your print. Print characteristics may appear incomplete and/or the filled in areas on may not show up.
1) Run some warm water over the print head. This can wash away any ink which might have dried in the cartridge print head. Dry the cartridge with a lint-free cloth before placing back into the printer.

2) Clean the contacts on the cartridge (the copper colored circuitry) and the contacts where the cartridge clips into the printer with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert and remove the cartridge from the printer a few times to be sure you have a good connection between contacts on the cartridge and the printer.

3) If your print is smeared cleaning the wiper blade may fix the problem. Do this according to your printer manual instructions.
