Whatever happened to the Print Screen key??
If you did computers back in the 80's (DOS days) you probably remember using the Print Screen key on your keyboard to print a copy of whatever was on the monitor screen at that time to your printer. It wasn't used that much because back in those days it took forever for a dot matrix printer to print out the entire monitor screen. However, it came in handy once and awhile.
Microsoft has turned the key into into a "Snapshot key" which, as that term implies, takes a snapshot of the monitor screen.
After taking the snapshot, in XP simply click on Start, All Programs, Accessories and Paint. Then click on Edit followed by Paste and Voila! There's your screen snapshot in living color staring you in the face!
Now you can use "Save As" and save it with a .jpg/tif extension (etc.) and/or send it to your printer using File, Print.
If your keyboard Print Screen key performs more than one function you will have to experiment a little to get it the key to perform the Print Screen Function. Try holding down the ALT, SHIFT, or CTRL key (or any "special" keys unique to your keyboard) when you hit the Print Screen key in order to get the key to perform its Print Screen function.

I have a Canon BJC 210. Colors reversed, won't print black

take the cartridges back and stick to official ones. Remanufactured cartridges tend to be more trouble than they are worth and cost more in the long run fixing the errors they cause.

Get a refund as they are faulty and buy some Canon ones :D

I recently installed a new printer, but when I try to print it is printing to a file and not printing hard copy

Go into Start > Control Panel >Printers
Choose your new printer by clicking on it once. The right-click on it and choose Set As Default Printer.

Save your changes and from now on, this will be the printer you will print to automatically.

HP Deskjet 712c Printer will not print in black & white

you need to check the head of the printer, im sure is bad, it depends how old is the printer but the head on the printer goes bad if printer has not been used for long time or if you left the old empty cartridge seating inside for a lont time, you can do a head check on the settings of the printer and also do an alignment thank you

Print scrn button does not work

Back in the mid to late 1980's "Print Scrn" button only worked for Epson black & White dot matrix printers. I think the printer drivers of today are far too complicated to have the button work. I tried all the key combos I could think of and nothing printed. If someone does get it printing, maybe they will let the rest of us know.

Hi, I have a gateway wireless keyboard and some of the keys are losing their letter print. I am glad that I know which letters are which, but is there something I can do without having to buy a new...

You could use something like white out to repaint the letters on the board and then invest in a plastic cover/protector for the board. With the protector in place it will prevent further letter wear. Hope this helps.

Epsom CX7800 Scanner Printer

Windows XP has its own scanning software found within the control panel under scanners and cameras. This appears to provide a more direct method of controlling the scanner because it is part of the OP Sys as opposed to 3rd party scanner software. If the scanner is installed and it appears as an installed option, then try using this approach instead of the actual scanning software.that came with the scanner.
