I have 4 Ionic Breeze units. On two of them the plastic spring loaded piece at the bottom of the cleanable part has broken. Are replacement parts available?

If the model was manufactured before 2007, read the below, in that case do not get the parts.

I want to call attention on the fact that several of old Ionic Breeze models are not being manufactured anymore because of health concerns. New model use a completely different technology. Parts for old models that raised concerns are not distributed anymore.
I suggest contacting manufacturer, if parts are not available, then the purifier was among the ones related to health concer. In that case I suggest replacing the ionic purifier with a different air purifier.

Note:On this particular problem: It is caused by arching, that was a factory defect. It is repaired replacing the plate. Since this is an old model, I suggest not repairing the unit.

Ionic breeze units don't have motors. I thought they just moved the air by ionization.

The unit might need to be cleaned. Check you owners manual or the manufacturer for instructions.

If you're referring to one of the ionizer wires (wire that has beads on it to clean the wires) then unfortunately, I'm afraid the unit can't be repaired. As Sharper Image has no authorized repair centers or replacement parts. If you're referring to wiring in the base of the machine, then a repair could be affected by either cleaning off the wire ends and reattaching them with a small piece of wire or soldering the broken wire back to the unit itself. Sadly, many of us (myself included) spent a lot of money on these units and the only place I've found parts is a website called http://breezerepair.com/parts.html (not an authorized repair center) but of the parts they have carry, they don't have the wire you referred to. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The company went under and doesn't service them anymore. It's possible you could find a local repair place that might be able to do something, but there is no authorized or trained service station.

You might be able to pick up spare parts if you scour eBay long enough.

I just fixed my proffessotional ionic. Im not sure what I did. lol. I took the screws out of the bottom, didnt see anything wrong, tho there is a piece of plastic in there, I dont know what it is. I cleaned the 2 center long metal like things, cleaned the contacts that the metal blades touch. cleaned the wires with alcohol and qtips, put it all back together, and it came on!!!!!!

If you're talking about those little plastic tabs at the bottom, they aren't important. Their job is to wipe the ionizing wires when you take the grid out or replace it.

You might be able to pick up spare parts if you scour eBay long enough.

This unit can be replaced on ebay for around $45.00 which is under any labor cost to repair the unit you currently have. You can always post your unit for sale on ebay for parts.

The unit works without them. Mine were broken for a year and worked fine.
