It wont work

Might be silly question but is it setup to auto transmit and receive? And have you tried to operate it manually? + take out the inline filter fax machines operate on volume'db' to soft and it can't hear, to loud and it can distort sound.

Fax machines usually only work over regular phone lines, not through digital cable or DSL systems. If your phone is a VOIP phone, it is a digital system and your fax will not work. It needs to be plugged into the Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) which is an analog system.

Use the fax to make a copy if the copy is bad the fax you send will be bad.

Be sure the fax is on the proper phone line. You can send on any line but you can only recieve on the line for your number.

Try to "slow" down the fax "speed"

sending fax is free, however you have to have a dedicated fax line with your phone company to recieve.

The machine is set with the sleep mode as a default. The fax part can be changed to recieve a fax by pressing the fax mode button. Press it until it says Fax only, not F/T. F/T means Fax/Telephone. This mode would make it to where you have to pick up the reciever and press start when a fax comes in. The Fax only mode means it will pick up everytime a fax comes in automatically.
