Have a Maytag Dependable Care dryer. Model MDG9606AWW. The glow bar comes on, gas lights and stays on about 30 seconds, go off for about 30-60 sec. then comes back on for about 10-18 seconds. Then goes off and on again like this repeatedly. Have cleaned out the vent system, changed the coils and checked the cycling thermostat. What else can it be?

Inspect the dryer venting from the rear of the dryer to the outside vent hood of the home.
If there's a restriction in the vent--the clothing in the dryer takes longer to dry.
When an LG dryer is functioning normally---the time required to dry laundry is determined by the *Sensor* located on the drum side of the lint filter housing and by the main control board.
When laundry is near dry--any Time Remaining on the control panel that is *not* needed will be eliminated---except for the last 6 minutes.
The final 6 minutes of any LG automatic cycle is for cooling down the laundry before the dryer ends the cycle.
If a dryer *counts down* to the last 6 minutes but the laundry is still not dry--the computer will allow the dryer to run until the laundry has dried or defaults (not drying within the additional time allowed).
Dryer vents that are longer than 8 feet with more than (2) 90 degree turns--can affect drying performance.
Setting the DRY LEVEL selector to *Very Dry* will solve most dryability issues. In homes with abnormally long vents--even the longer run time in the *Very Dry* setting is usually not sufficient to dry laundry loads.
Reducing the length of the vent or starting a second cycle becomes necessary to fully dry the clothing.
If a second cycle was started---only the amount of time that is needed to dry laundry will be used before dropping to 6 minutes and then the cycle will end with dry laundry.

LG gas dryers are more sensitive to venting length and air flow resistance. The gas burner can cause a rapid increase in temperature compared to an electric burner.
Rapid temperature rise in a gas dryer leads to premature burner shutdown (longer time required to dry laundry).
The gradual temperature increase of an electric element is more "forgiving" in homes where the dryer venting is less than ideal.

I have a model LDG712 gas dryer. The flame ignites and burns for about 20 seconds. The flame then stops burning and it about 1 minute and 30 seconds or more before it lights again. The glow bar...

The flame should cycle on for about 50 seconds on the first cycle and approx 20 sec each additional cycle. I would check your airflow out of the dryer it my be restricted not allowing the flame to pull through the burner tube causing the unit to "short cycle". Its not likely a thermostat issue but if you were to replace a thermostat I would replace the cycling thermostat should be part number 3387134. Hope this helps.

Neptune won't dry clothes -

I would replace the solenoids. The gas valve is not fully opening. The glow bar may be failing but the coils on the valve are in need of replacing..

Gas neptune dryer fires up for 45 sec. to 1 min, then goes out

Could be a couple different things,Possibly a thermostat or high limit that is kicking out too soon, also has a flame sensor next to the burner that can come and go.if you have a toggle switch or pushbutton switch you can unplug the unit take the two wires off the flame sensor (black box about the size of a cigarette pack on the left of the burner)plug them into the switch start the dryer Turn the switch on till the igniter glows bright, turn the switch off and the burner will light if it stays lit at least till it gets to temp replace the flame sensor.(It won't cycle with out flipping the switch each time)

I have an Amana model #ndg7800aww gas dryer thats not heating. the glow bar glows the gas comes on for a few minutes then the glow bar just keeps cycling.

The problem is with the 2 little gas coils.
I change about 3 of those per week.

Parts will run you around $20 and it's fairly easy to replace.

Please feel free to email me if you need help installing. Thank you :)

Dryer runs ,heats up flame goes off after 30 secs won't relight

Seems to be a problem with the bas valves....you shouldve seen them in front of ignitor...will show similar signs of ignitor. part#306106 AND 306105. come off easily with a few screws and just slide over valve assembly.

Maytag gas dryer - model unknown - gas wont stay lit

Yes does sound like blockage in the exhaust vent causing the high limit switch to stop the dryer.

Burner wont stay lite for more than 60 sec.

There are two things which could cause this.
First, if there is insufficient air flow, and second would be if one of the coils on the gas valve open up as it warms (as current flows through it). If you have good air flow out the outside exhaust with this problem, replace the gas valve. (coils are not available individually, even though you can swap out the coils from the old and new valve without physically changing the entire valve)
